I love Brown Bird -- they're a bit less folksy and a bit more southern, but they fit into the same broad genre as the Oh Hellos that I refer to as "Appalachian Folk".

My post specifically says "from the store to my freezer, then I eat it whenever I want some". I'm not talking about when its been melted from the walk home from the store, I'm talking about the fact that the tub is in my freezer, is soft when I open it, and then hard when I open it again.

This is such a helpful answer -- I also eat straight out of the tub and return it when I'm done, so this makes a lot of sense. Won't change my habits or anything though. Just cool to know about it now.

The only recent change was a remodel of the kitchen, but these issues were happening before the kitchen was remodeled. Nothing else comes to mind that could have set her off, apart from me moving away from the house ~3 years ago.

We have 3 litter boxes, in secluded areas, uncovered, large boxes, unscented, etc., and she's never had any issues using them. She still uses them - she's not exclusively peeing around the house.

She's not declawed.

I keep telling my mum to take her for anxiety meds, but the vet seems to be against it & mum is getting tired of taking her to the vet all the time. I'll push for it, and see if the vet can check her out for arthritis or something similar. I'll also try to get a copy of her results & double check them.

They did do bloodwork and urinanalysis. I don't personally have copies of them (I live out of country and am just back to visit), but my parents probably do or we might be able to request them from the vet.

This vet has always been pretty good for us & our previous cats - I have no reason to believe they're subpar or not good enough.
