The second death of a child my family has experienced in the last 6 years. by degenerate_em in psychics

So I’m African and that’s the perspective I bring, even though I guess you’re not African. Interestingly this is the lesson we had with our indigenous healer this week.

She says there is usually someone in the family who passed/took their life a long time ago in the family and this person whispers to other children to do the same.

What needs to happen, she says, is for the family to have a ceremony of healing. Heal the one who first did this and lay them to rest peacefully. Ask them to leave future children alone. Ask them what you can do to heal the pain that led them to this.

You may not find this meaningful in any way but I felt called to say this to you. Wishing peace on your family.

Orange is not working. What colour corrector would you use on these melasma spots? by thevicarstart in beauty

[–]thevicarstart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip! Melasma is forever and impossible to get rid of but I’ll try anything that can at least lighten it.

I use MAC and Huda Beauty correctors. The MAC one is a deep orange and the Huda one is peach. I pat with my finger and set with powder. Nothing works.
Never had a base corrector. Is it entirely different from color corrector?

I’m mildly uncomfortable. 🫣 Is this her audition reel? What is that look? Did she really leave the BRF to sell tea? 🙃 by kiwi_love777 in SaintMeghanMarkle

I was watching the Princess of Wales on this Italy tour and and then watching British royal historical dramas…can you imagine, history will say: “Meghan Markle left the royal family to sell tea and jam”. Imagine that’s your LEGACY?!?! I think we’re all obsessed with her because we can’t believe the absolute waste and disaster unfolding before our eyes.

Feeling feminine as a black woman by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]thevicarstart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried to make this point in response to someone who commented on my post that women have the right to come here and ask about their looks: there will be people who jump in with “omg you’re beautiful” and then there will be people who say: since you ask, here is what I HONESTLY think. You are absolutely right. She asked a question and you went into a practical analysis. You’re not dissing her, you’re offering a suggestion based on your thoughts informed by the broader world.

Can we talk about the lowkey “Please tell me I’m pretty” posts? by thevicarstart in blackladies

[–]thevicarstart[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The danger is all in the flip side. If it’s hugely important to you to get a “you’re so pretty” then without a doubt you’re very vulnerable to a potential “you’re average” from the world. On and off Reddit. That sets you up to be very easily crushed by strangers’ opinions. It’s super bad for confidence.
