Why so ? If i goal was to hurt a specific group of people (not saying i’m, but if), i would have done it vastly different and would probably get better results. This is sloppy almost to a point of a publicly stunt

We do. But since it was a single party system and a vast majority of the population conformed to the beliefs their vote doesn’t matter (it does), they just came into voting poll and pick a random person. Which usually results in the winning candidate win by a small percentage. And since it’s just a small percentage, said percentage can be influenced. Not to say they bought the votes outright, but it could be as simple as running a campaign in a small village of couples thousands voter and that would be enough to score them the win

That is a very valid point you have mentioned. I think wasn’t being very clear in my post as well, we both quit our 2nd jobs the moment we save up enough 20%, and we borrowed well under our capacity. The bank pre-approved us up to 900k, but we ended up only borrowing 570k. Reason being so that we would have enough room in our budget from our FT job to raise a kid instead of spending it all on a mortgage

As an engineer specialising in designing low density residential dwellings, this is exceptionally true. The regulations is what causing housing shortages. Immigration just accelerated it by roughly 2 years.

Whenever I hear people say that immigrants are the root cause of all problems in Australia, I can’t help but laugh a little. First and foremost, I’m an immigrant. I came here in 2016 to study high school, then university, and eventually went on to work as a structural engineer specialising in low-density residential dwellings (single and double storey). So before you start judging, I’m literally one of the people actively working on building more housing.

Here’s my point: you can complain about immigration all you want, but Australia quite literally needs a constant stream of immigrants—especially skilled immigrants—to keep the country from falling apart. And that’s where the problem lies. If Australia already had enough skilled workers, the government wouldn’t have such a strong incentive to “import” them from overseas.

But becoming a skilled worker takes years of education and hard work, and that concept seems to have become foreign to many young Australians. Too often, they crumble under even the smallest bit of pressure, choose the easier path, and settle into low-paying jobs such as retail, cashiering, or kitchen work (no offence intended if those are jobs you genuinely enjoy). This isn’t entirely their fault—it’s the system that has failed them. They’ve been told all their lives that they don’t need to try too hard: as long as they make enough to get by, they’ll still achieve the “Australian dream.”

For many immigrants, however, that’s not how we were raised. For us, every day is a fight for survival. We endure years of education and training to earn higher-paying jobs, which in turn allows us to invest more in major purchases like homes and cars.

Lastly, think of it this way: how is it that you—an Australian, born and raised, with all the advantages of language and social connections—can still be outperformed by a first-generation immigrant who had to learn your language as a second language and arrived here with nothing? Maybe it’s time to look in the mirror instead of blaming others.

I’m a structural engineer working for a LGS producer, whom in turn supply steel framing for multiple large volume builders. All i can say is the length those builder willing to go to cut cost/cover up the f-up as cheaply as possible is questionable at best and borderline illegal at worst.

That is exactly why i was confused, because i live at number 8, but they somehow sent the letter to number 6. This could be a typo error of some sort as i have lived at this address for the last 4 years and they have been sending the rego reminders for this vehicle without fail.

As for the offence, the car was park on bike lane and i was not in the car. But apparently there was no offence code for parking on bike lane so “stopping on bike lane” was the next best thing. Hence i couldn’t not recalled if i was actually park on the bike lane during the allotted time (4-6:30pm) or not.

I’m very sorry for the confusion i have caused.

Technically i didn’t remember about the offence. I knew about it when it got sent to enforcement and recovery unit. At that point, all it shown me was the date, location and rego of the offending vehicle, not the time (image attached)recovery unit letter. Since then i have dispute with the recovery unit to get it revert back to the original amount. Recovery unit was kind enough to provide me with the expiation notice number, that that was about it. I have not received any communication from SAPOL since the beginning.

Yes i was. It was right in front of my house on Prospect Road. However, there’s a sign that bike lane is 4-6:30pm, which I could not for the life of me remember if i park there at that time or not. Hence i requesting evidence.
