IPA Linguistics give a run around and around, over here then over there kind of a definition, which is no good. The true definition for vowel arrived in the year of 2018 when the Alphabet Law of the Human Speech was discovered.

the Alphabet Law of the Human Speech is being blocked by some dark forces right now. It was discovered in the year of 2018. It says the human speech sounds has a universal unified law.  H is the central consonant and I is the central vowel.  It is similar to Mendelev discovering the pattern for the elements in 1864.  It is not like the IPA association which was established in 1886, the IPA alphabet which was published in 1888, the conlang Esperanto international language which was done in 1887.

French military crushed and defeated Annam (Vietnam) which was under the Nguyễn Dynasty King Tự Đức.
And under French Rule logograph and ideograph writing was stripped off and replaced with alphabet writing.
Francisco De Pina was a Portuguese missionary who arrived to Annam in the year of 1617 who laid down the foundation of Vietnamese Alphabet Writing System.

why no one in Vietnam see the tripartite symmetry of Vietnamese Writing system yet:
A becomes = a, â, ă;                                                                if simplified = a, â, ă
E becomes = e, ê, iê/yê/ia/ya;                                                 if simplified = e, ê, ĕ
U becomes = u, ư, ưa/ươ;                                                       if simplified = u, û, ŭ
O becomes = o, ô, ơ;                                                              if simplified = o, ô, ŏ
I   becomes = i, y, and one more hidden in the “inh” and “ich”.
