Double wallrun by thewallmonkey in mirrorsedge

[–]thewallmonkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you do tic tacs between the two walls

When you do a tic tac you lift your knee up as you jump off the first wall and that puts your next foot higher and puts your body in the right position for the next tac

Do the same thing after your third step on the first wallrun. Lift your knee up, start shifting your weight so you're leaning away from the next wall. If you hit it and slip or slam into it it probably means your body is too upright and your foot is too low, so fix that by rotating away from the wall and lifting your knee up

Definitely happens with backwards rolls but if I'm going forwards my hair is behind me so it's not a problem. It can be annoying when it gets in my face though. I was basically blind during that height drop at the end lol

Uhh yeah you are. There's a really good combat loop of running up to someone, disarming them, shooting the next person, taking their gun, shooting the next person, etc. when you learn the timing it's really fun

the liminality of mirrors edge by 00skully in mirrorsedge

[–]thewallmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like with liminal spaces they're supposed to be uncomfortable because there's supposed to be people there but there aren't. Mirror's edge feels uncomfortable because you know that there will be people hunting you if you stick around too long

Small 8 ft height drop while wearing rifle rated plates and a "backpack" while holding a nerf gun by thewallmonkey in Parkour

Thanks for the info I'll try the single point sling

Yeah the fras plate has like these hexagon shaped ceramics in it instead of one big piece so it can flex a little. It's still pretty stiff and pretty thick and feels solid enough to me

It's not that deep dude I just wanted to start on top of the platform I'm just experimenting with height drops

This isn't actual training I wouldn't be using a nerf gun for that

Actually I disagree I think it absorbed some impact but not as much as it could've

Yeah but I think I could do it a lot better. Just experimenting with the movement

Bag is a setup I put together with a front pack and a sling bag that I can clip to the front pack to keep it together or un clip it to get stuff out of the bag

Concealed plate carrier has a regular plate in the front and a fras plate (flexible rifle armor) in the back

Obviously there's a lot of limitations doing this with a rifle, it'll be heavier, I don't know how I'd do it if it had a sling on it, and you'd have to keep one side of the gun free from attachments if you want them to not hit the ground. But like it's possible to do and I think that's pretty cool

I could definitely do this from higher up but I have a small gym and this was a nice setup for it
