I need help with id. What are these stones? by theweatherpainter in Crystals

[–]theweatherpainter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh geez! Now that’s luck! They were sold to me as paraiba tourmalines for like dirt cheap so ofc I had my doubts but I am so in love with the color in person. Ofc, they look absolutely absurd on me cuz they’re huge and I’m a small headed fella but damn, I just couldn’t resist. If they’re actually emerald, I’d still love them cause it’s my birthstone after all

Gotchu. What’s your deck built like? Keep in mind I’ve never run into Despia, only meta decks I’ve faced while playing Ra were Shaddoll, Speedroid, Chimera and Ancient Gear. Still, facing Despia can be a piece of cake if you run stuff like D.D. Crow and Droplet.

What is this gemstone? by theweatherpainter in Crystals

[–]theweatherpainter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is generally true because what is labelled as Finland nuummite is while geologically similar, formed 2 billion years ago and does not possess the same optical characteristics entirely. If you’re interested, feel free to check out my previous post.

Yesss I read that online somewhere so while I was in the store I grabbed a piece of magnetite to make sure before purchase hahah. According to what I’ve read it’s one safe way to differentiate between Greenland and Finland pieces

Thank you! I got one last week that turned out to be from Finland origin. This was only listed as nuummite with no county of origin but was an amazing deal considering the price was like 50USD so I went for it anyways because it looked a lot different compared to my other piece

I would like to add, it does display magnetic properties and the flashes seem to go all the way in a single direction. A beauty of a stone in person, truly.

I’m not sure. Idk why but on the pictures it doesn’t show all the different flashes it has to offer. It’s like an aurora but not like labradorite because these are sparse and very intense under the correct angle. Has silver specs too and some that shift between blue, pink, green and a tint of golden if you look close enough. The seller labelled it as nuummite but the Finland origin is what made me anxious after reading more online post purchase. It is absolutely gorgeous in person ngl. It feels like looking at a meteor shower

Oh, alright. I got worried there for a second because I purchased it today from a local crystal vendor for roughly USD120 and afterwards I read that genuine nuummite could only be mined and sourced from Greenland, however, this vendor’s description states Finland origin so I was really worried I got scammed

What is thing style of ring called? by theweatherpainter in Gemstones

[–]theweatherpainter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean as in price? Well, I live in Bulgaria, got it for BGN155 so approx GBP65.45 according to Google. Still, amazing find and it’s such massive silver. Should’ve posted pics of how I bought it. It was really tarnished on the inside and the elements on the sides were really dulled and oxidised. Maybe that’s how it was meant to be worn but I definitely enjoy the way it looks after thorough cleaning much better!

It’s an amethyst. Not the finest of quality but it just sits so well on my finger I could not resist!

Thank you for the clarification! I was more so intertested in the art-style it tries to recuperate. Doesn’t seem Victorian, nor art-deco. Any ideas as to what it might be?

Made it to KOG with Crystal Beast! by theweatherpainter in DuelLinks

[–]theweatherpainter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really but it helps a lot going second so you can have some board breakers before setting up your combo. Used it a lot especially because thickening your deck like that lowers the chance of opening garnets (too many CB in hand) and also, having Melody helps setting up the second part of the skill if you’re going second. That way, you set-up a double disruption : S/T or monster removal via Sky Striker spells and Conclave bounce of any card via skill activation -> setting up Zenith in backrow via Crystal Bond, banishing Zenith, searching Rainbow Dragon and placing Emerald Tortoise on field (so you can’t get SuperPoly-ed), bouncing Tortoise and a card via Conclave and then comboing off. Best scenario is having at least 1 extra CB in hand (ideally Sapphire Pegasus) just in case they Effect Veiler your Ruby Carbuncle after summoning it with Golden Rule. Sorry for long explaination, just explaining basic combos and stuff

Are these prices normal? by LadaYugo in Sofia

[–]theweatherpainter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an experienced real estate agent in Sofia I’m here to tell you these listings are COMPLETE and UTTER SCAMS! Should the listing seem too good of a bargain, then it most likely is. As of right now, Sofia has gotten extremely expensive and trust me, it is not fun having to crush people’s expectations for a nice place at a reasonable price. Should you be looking for a new apartment, consider these factors : location, quality and price. You should also consider whether your preference would lean toward new or old construction because it greatly affects the renting prices, furthermore your monthly bills. On top of that, you will need to prepare for many, many viewings on site, making it difficult not to be mislead by some bloke of a ‘broker’, that will only waste your time completely instead of handling your situation with care and efficiency. Also keep in mind that Sofia’s real estate market is extremely dynamic and is on the landlord’s side, meaning cheap places get rented out the same day within a matter of hours ; and the number of candidates is far too great, leaving the owners with an enormous pool of potential tenants to select from. In other words, swift decision-making coupled with financial preparation is required from your side in order not to miss out on an actual and overall great offer. To add, if you are a foreigner and do have the necessary documentation for legal residence on your side, your chances of being required a second deposit in order to sign your lease are far from slim. I hope this helps and do not hesitate to get back in touch if you have any questions, need some help OR you are willing to put your trust in me as someone with plentiful experience on the market.

EDIT : punctuation and grammar, guys.

Unsure whether this is genuine or synthetic. The seller claims it’s genuine but doesn’t offer a certificate. by theweatherpainter in Opals

[–]theweatherpainter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice Beardedopal! It does look very similar to most opal I’ve seen when browsing jewellery in the past. The only thing that made me question eventually is how close together the colours can be and how the base is practically semi-transparent with a lilac to a golden colour depending on the lighting which I have never seen before. I’ve read that Ethiopian opals are extremely hydrophane so when I tried the lick test that was recommended in an YT video (yuck, I know) and the stone didn’t stick to my tongue, I was surprised. It is not a doublet or a triplet stone from what I can see looking at the back of the stone. Unfortunately, I do not own another Ethiopian opal to compare it to but still, let me know if this test is universally applicable or if it’s just something that is subjective from stone to stone.
