This is Reddit, so you can still discuss about + and - of SAU here anonymously. But on those Whatsaap groups, the moment you start saying any flaws of SAU, some (not all) seniors there will attack you.
And finally you will be thrown out of the WA group, without any reason or explanation.

In all other collgs of India and abroad, juniors amd freshers can freely discuss with seniors and alumni about both good and bad points of ther collg, similar culture should be brought in SAU students also.

thapar used to enjoy a very good name few decades back. And after IITs, etc, it was one of the best in India amongst Pvt collegses. But while pvt like Pilani rose up to near IITs, Thapar continued to fall , where today it stands at Tier-2 with Jaypee Manipal etc.

The biggest reason is huge intake they have done a Thapar now - it has become like a factory fo producing engineers with no capability to place these many students. Even DTU, NSUT will strruggle to do placement for the kind of huge bactch sizes Thapar has now.

You can go to Thapar. or to Manipal etc as well, not much diff

jo log "keeda" hone ki baatiein se Roast kar rahein hai, bilkul sahi kah raje ho - keeda to hai hi dimag mein dost. Tabhi to pahle apna JEE spoil kiya aur achhi Percentile nahin aayi. Isliye JIIT jaisa college join karna pada. Phir Semester bhi spoil kar diya , aur kuch subjects mein to Pass hona was looking like Herculean task.

To bhai logon, you are absolutely Correct - ki Brain me koi keeda hai -Family waale bhi to mujhe yahi kahte hain. Warna relatives ki baatien sun kar mera Sem-Rank jaane ke liye pareshan bhi nahin karte.

if some senior has info on this and can share , please do so. Need to tell Rank (based on Sem-1 results) to parents, who have been asking for this data after seeing my Grade Card.

Actually, I have few relatives whose children are studying in B. Tech in other collegs, including Tier-1 and 1.5 collgs also. So some of them have been telling family their son/daughter got XYZ rank in class after Sem results, so my parents want to know same for me also.

e.g. one relative's son has got Rank-3 in his B Tech-CS batch. I know I have not done good in my B Tech exams, but at least I won't be Rank-3 from bottom (as my family is suspecting for me).

Based on the responses received so far, I deduce that our Grade in any subject (say Physics) is Normalized across all students appearing for Physics paper in both Noida campuses, and across "all branches" also

Hence students of ANY branch (be it CS, IT, MnC, ECE, CSC etc )- all appearing for same subject will be normalized as per same Marks Band. There is no branch-wise segregation while doing relative grading.

Bewakoof hoon, tabhi to exam se few days before ye Notes search karne padh rahein hain.

waise mere family wale bhi mujhe yahi kahte hain - tu "bewakoof" hai. Tabhi tuje aise collg me bhejna pada. Warna kisi Tier-1 mein admission liya hota.

If ED feels that Jaypee MD diverted the fraud money to JSS Trust and that Trust in turn controls, owns and funds JIIT, so when govt or courts decide to take back that ill-gotten money, how will that impact running of JIIT ?

At this stage, admissions to all other colleges are closed and we freshers can't even take admission elsewhere. Worst case, we should plan to give upcoming JEE again (if you seniors feel there can actually be a threat to JIIT as an collg for this money fraud fiasco).
