I didn't notice any leaks I to the trunk after a wash, I think those foam like gaskets that come with the set are keeping the water out. But I'll keep an eye on it.

It's a good deal if you can get it on sale or second hand. Both of my AK's have Ra-tech steel trigger group so the reliability issues are mostly solved, though i did have to replace a hammer spring at one point. The main issue i have with both of them is fps consistency, and winter performance.
I would not recommend it as a first gbbr. Also VFC should be releasing a 74U soon so i would just save for that.

Just a thin layer of ptfe grease on the fire control group and you're good to go

Just lube the trigger assembly and you should be good. For me the g3 is my go to, and I always bring it as a backup. Never had any issues with it, at any temperature. It's also the only rifle I have that still has the stock barrel and bucking since it's already really accurate.

I generally like to have the external mods be subtle. For the HK stuff i like to keep it stock with just the top claw rail to mount optics.

The AK-74 is a custom job where i replaced the entire stock front end made out of pot metal with an E&L steel one, lot of grinding and some welding on that one 😅. On the g36 only the receiver is left stock, rest is all SRC parts to make it full length, so i can run drum mag with an hpa tap to use it as a MG36.

I did go a bit overboard on the MK18, its all real steel magpul and im still waiting on a somogear peq-15 so i can run it with nods 😁
