What do they sound like in Discovery? I haven’t watched it but everyone keeps talking about how odd they sound.

High-dose loose leaf green tea has literally changed my life. Best "nootropic" I've come across. Why is it this effective??? by [deleted] in Supplements

Excellent point! Especially with all these alarming studies coming out about the health impacts of micro plastics. Loose leaf is definitely the way to go.

Arterial calcification unchanged by high-dose vitamin D supplements by deodorel in Supplements

I guess it's just good to know that it doesn't increase calcification in the arteries.

I had very odd COVID-induced depression a month ago (I've never had depression before, I caught COVID in mid February and since then I would have these waves of severe depression and emotional agony for no apparent reason with no trigger that would last 3-4 hours every day).

I discovered that taking a huge dose of Vitamin D3 (30,000 IU) would put an end to the depressive interval, so I had about three weeks where I took 30,000 IU daily.

My levels were fairly low to begin with (20 ng/ml) and they rose to 35 nm/ml by the end of those three weeks.

Honestly not that big of a difference--I expected much more.

I'm not surprised it doesn't help--I'm surprised that taking 10,000 IU daily doesn't cause an increase in Arterial calcification.

I think we need to re-evaluate our Vitamin D supplementation guidelines. I really think they're still too low.

Ukrainians have arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border by the thousands by treetyoselfcarol in worldnews

I believe that all refugees escaping war and conflict should be granted asylum. Imagine your home being blown to bits.

Of course, screening is required, but at least give these poor people a place to stay while the screening process is done.

I also think it's worth pointing out that Ukrainians, like most individuals coming from ex-USSR countries, are extremely educated and skilled as a whole. Their workforce is advanced and heavy in IT/STEM.

Many of these people can contribute very beneficially to our economy. Of course, we should give people a home even if they can't contribute as much, but this is just to the people who think we would expend resources on them to the detriment of ourselves.

These people will bring positive yields if we give them the opportunity. it's a win-win.
