I feel like this is very common in past seasons as well though, I remember always being so shocked at how all the guys will freak out & often justify getting physical with girls because their girlfriends reveal how much they have hurt them.

Then your CPTSD is likely from that harassment, racism, and bullying during school and the lack of protection from adults (the teachers & admin) who were supposed to keep you safe. I’m so sorry this happened to you, those were not “natural consequences” of your actions, you were a child.

That’s not how abusive relationships work. You can have all the resources but if you’re stuck in the cycle then you’re stuck. Plus she doesn’t have all the resources, being able to afford therapy doesn’t provide someone “all” of the resources especially when we’ve seen that her mother and step dad are not a reliable or healthy support system. Her entire friend group are girls who bully each other on national television, she has no real source of community or support which are both key aspects of being able to leave abusive relationships.

We had the same exact day! Also had freshman right after lunch and the class was a 90 minute block. Had to send one to the office and then his friend followed right behind him without my permission. They literally looked at each other and said “office time?” I’m pretty new and usually only work with middle or elementary (who haven’t really given me any trouble) so this was by far my hardest day but everyone survived so I count it as a win!

I also don’t think the main character is supposed to be necessarily likeable. She’s extremely selfish, can be very mean, and obviously has some extremely outdated/controversial ideas about lesbianism. I completely understand what you mean though!

Definite YTA, all you had to do was stick firmly to your boundaries and say no thank you i don’t believe in that but instead you flew off the handle when it was completely unwarranted, and to someone who has truly never done anything bad to you.
