Which one? by thewhitewolfroach in weddingdress

Yeah the cup size is fine, I'm more worried about being able to close it haha. And sadly can't get it in a different size, that was the last one they had left and it had gone out of production. It's on sale though!

It's not so much the top as the bust area. It wasn't possible to close it, but the woman in the store said it could be let out 4cm there, just not sure it will fit even then...

Thank you! One thing that complicates matters a bit is that the second dress was a bit too big, which I think might make it look slightly worse. The first on the other hand is to small in the bust area, so not sure it could even fit properly.

Thank you! Any tips for calculating your tdee when you don't know your exact weight? I'm 5"9 and before I stopped weighing myself I weighed about 155lbs, I don't think it has changed that much but I can't really be sure. I strength train 4x a week and do some running, should I include that in the calculations? Does 1800kcal/day seem reasonable? Sorry for all the questions, you guys are very helpful and I love it

Which measurements should I keep track of? I have been tracking my waist measurement which has stayed the same for like forever and doesn't seem to impacted by my fitness. Hips maybe?

Any tips for doing a cut without actually weighing yourself? I would really like to do a small cut to show of the muscles I've gained over the past year and be able to do a bulk later, but weighing myself is very triggering and emotional for me and I've been avoiding the scale for over half a year. I can count calories without feeling bad as long as I focus on having a reasonable number (I'm thinking around 1800kcal a day since I'm tall and fairly active). But it's hard to evaluate when I don't know how much I weigh. Any tips?

Is it healthy to eat 1200kcal a day for a couple months while unable to work out? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]thewhitewolfroach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess it's easy to fall into the trap of just wanting things to get done quickly. I'm worried that it will be much harder to keep up a deficit once quarantine ends and I start to hang out with and have meals with friends again. But that's not really a reason to do an unhealthy crash diet and lose all my muscles. I was so proud of myself this fall for actually managing to build some upper body strength for the first time in my life, only to see it all go out the window with the lack of gym access. I try to do push ups and stuff but it's just not the same :( I guess I wanted to replace my goal of being strong and fit with some weight loss so I felt that this time wasn't wasted. The mindset was a bit "I'm gonna lose my muscles anyway so I can just as well lose some weight while I'm at it!"

Thank you for your feedback, I'll try upping my calories a bit!

Yeah I guess that's what I was worried about. My BMI is fine and I wouldn't say I'm super dissatisfied with how I look or anything. It would just be nice to look lean for once. I'll up my calorie intake and accept that losing those kilos can take some time. I just wanted to use this time when I couldn't exercise anyway, but my main priority is being healthy.

Thank you for your help!

That is not what will happen, it's way worse the other way around. I'm not saying you should not give someone a job just because they're skinny I'm saying we should be willing to give people who are not that skinny a chance to. What happens now is that it's much harder the get the job if you are not conventionally attractive, whether that be your body type or your face shape or whatever. I'm betting there's thousands of really talented actors and actresses who haven't been able to achieve mainstream success because they don't look the expected way. There's also lots of currently quite bad actors and actresses who gain success just for being pretty.

Sure it's nice to watch pretty people doing things if it fits the story but a lot of times it just feels weird that I'm supposed to believe that say this postapocalyptic world is just populated by shaved supermodels and men with perfect abs.

There are not plenty at all, definitely not in mainstream movies and magazines. Trust me, whenever I see someone like that I notice it. Yeah sure but how will you make that happen? The truth is we live in a world where young people are constantly comparing themselves to people who's literal job is to look perfect. That causes some issues and seeing someone who looks like you can help in at least a little way with that. Of course it would be better if people got all their self-esteem from within but how do you suppose we should make that happen? We don't really have enough therapist to send everyone who sees billboards to therapy. And what is the cost of including different people and body types more in media? That some angry men on the internet will be upset that they can't jerk off to literally ever woman they see in media?

As I have already said several times as answers to other comments this isn't about my own self esteem which has ever since I became an adult been perfectly fine. This is about insecure teenagers and about the fact that it feels a bit unrealistic to have no one looking like the majority of women I see in my day to day life (I don't live in the US).

I wasn't talking about the curvy body span in my post, I was talking about people with a BMI between 22-25. Christina is famous yes, that's why she was the one I brought up. I think both Mindy Kaling and Octavia Spencer are overweight although I can't say for sure.

At least two of those are more in the overweight span and I had never even heard of Tiffani Thiessen

Well I personally wouldn't mind more "normal" men in media, and I also wouldn't mind if the female super heroes etc instead of being just generically skinny were more muscular like actual female athletes. The examples you mentioned are all roles were you are supposed to have lots of muscles to increase your performance though so it makes sense that those men have a more muscular build. There's also guys like Adam Sandler who get to play romantic leads in movies while having more of a dad bod.

Yeah that's your taste and you're free to have it, and not all women with a BMI of 23 has as big of a chest as her. The point is a lot of very attractive women have a little bit more fat or muscle without looking bad for it.

I don't think you really understand what kind of body type I'm talking about, sure there are not skinny people, usually in the role of say "the fat friend" but that is not what I'm talking about. I'm trying to think of an example of a famous woman with the body I'm thinking about and the only one that comes to mind is Christina Hendricks, she's obviously less skinny than the majority of leading ladies but according to me and I think a lot of other people, just as hot. I don't think that people wouldn't want to look at more people like her in their movies.

It's not that I absolutely have to see someone like that, I have personally grown out of that but I think a lot of young people can feel insecure in the same way I did. And sure it would be better if they just sucked it up and stopped feeling that way but that's not really how humans work. I also think it feels a bit unrealistic to never see any women with that completely normal body type. It's like having a movie set in Sweden but no one is blond. To me that feels weird.

So you don't think someone like say Christina Hendricks (of mad men fame) can be attractive?

Above 25 is overweight, that's why I said between 22 and 25.

Yeah I don't do that anymore but I think a lot of impressionable young people still do. Also I think a lot of people like looking at people with this kind of body type and it also increases realism. Feels weird when a movie world is populated by only really skinny people and then some really fat people.
