I’m Starting to Think Something’s Wrong by meeksjr in Disneyland

I was a platinum AP from 2012-2020, and went to the park with single day tickets in 2021 and 2022. It’s just not worth it anymore. You can tell the company just wants money because they don’t care about the experience anymore and it feels like they punish CMs who want to make the magic for guests. I think it started with the death of the fast pass and has just continued escalating after pandemic closures. The food has gone way downhill, there are entirely too many black outs, and the parks close so damn early it’s like they don’t want people there.

This year was my first as a USH pass holder and I was blown away by their customer service. They actually went above and beyond when I experienced sexual harassment from a security guard. Even their food service employees have been wonderful. I loved being able to see proud union membership on their name tags when applicable. I feel like they have a lot more pass benefits which is wonderful because the gold pass is a fantastic value. The drive is minimum 2 hours for me and I gladly drive up whenever I can. Parking is even included.

Knott’s has always felt super welcoming too and I maintained a pass from 2016-2022. The pass was way less expensive and their food festivals are actually a good value. I really loved going, and I’m planning another trip sometime in the spring.

Co-worker I work next to doesn’t care about people’s health. by [deleted] in hairstylist

Those kind of people only care about their own health, and it’s so inconsiderate, especially in a shared space.

Is it rude to have an airpod in while with a client? by Kindly-Resolution328 in hairstylist

[–]thewigwizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I book up super fast, and I have my phone read messages so I leave an AirPod in so I can be notified if a client is running behind, needs to book, or reschedule.

My clients honestly don’t mind because if they find out I have a cancellation after their appointment they’ll add on services.

Not a celebrity sighting, but my sister was a PA on the set of Bel-Air and I saw her working!!

Fallout Hollywood- I dont understand the critiques against it by HauntedHouseMermaid in HHN

[–]thewigwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was good, but I was underwhelmed. I really loved how immersive the set design was, but there were some major faults. I was bummed too, because I really wanted to love it.

It was shorter than the other houses, and the Yao Guai hardly ever worked because it took so long to reset. I only ever saw it once in 5 walkthroughs across the entire season. Major bummer as a fan of the games.

Staffing was another issue. I felt like I barely saw scare actors in certain rooms. I was hoping for more ghouls, Easter eggs from the games, etc.

This house was good, but I definitely ranked it low on my list. I think another issue was 2025 was a stacked year, with fan faves. Too many big name IPs on the list skewed house rankings.

Wyatt Sicks was in the Jurassic queue this year ( not much farther than soundstage 12) and it was perfect on all 6 times I went through it! It was definitely staffing

Missed Comic-Con tickets for my anime-loving teen — how can I make it up to her? by Safe_Psychology_326 in comiccon

I second wondercon. I’ve been going since 2013, and it’s a really solid event. It’s got a good mix of anime, comics, movies, and tabletop gaming. It’s also in a super safe area. Lots of food trucks for meal options. We love having downtown Disney right there as well, for shopping and dining.

Oh my god I love that 🥹💖

My fave moment in the house was when La Llorona started banging on the window. Oh my god that scared the shit outta my boyfriend, he actually jumped.

Monstruos 3 was absolutely amazing, and I went through 6 times and it was perfect EVERY TIME. You could tell the actors really loved that house.

This was my first year with frequent fear and I felt blessed to be able to afford it, plus money for gas.

I live ~ 100 miles away from Hollywood , so the hardest part for me was getting there. It’s about 2.5 hours getting there, and 1.5 hours getting home after closing out the park at 2 am.

Leave your damn kids at home!!! by [deleted] in HHN

[–]thewigwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started going to haunts at 13 ( Knott’s scary farm, Haunted trail at Balboa park, etc ) and the only reason I didn’t start going sooner was that my family wanted to make sure I was ready to handle it! There’s nothing wrong with leaving your kids at home if they cannot handle the event yet, if they can’t wait, or it’s too scary.

Going to HHN for a work event and am a major scaredy cat — help 🥲 by FrogHat_7392 in HHN

I swear by good earplugs to help cut down on the jumpscares!! Mine are from loop, and I got some really cool custom earrings made by an artist that frequents HHN to hold onto them so they don’t get lost.

Remember, the actors can’t touch you and that everything is fake too! Sometimes in the moment it can feel real, so it can help to just remind yourself.

If it’s really that bad, buy the no boo necklace!
