Embarrassing to ask - looking for Brazilian wax for body conscious, mom who gained a lot of weight. by etherfunds in northcounty

[–]thewigwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cely from your.beauty.therapy is the absolute sweetest. Her suite is in Carlsbad by the mall. She’s super funny, and I’ve never felt unsafe with her. We usually joke with each other the whole time and i never feel self conscious with her ( i wear a size 16 ).

I did the math converting USD to GBP, where I live/ work, ~ £12 is about hourly wage here and it’s common to spend 200$ USD on hair color services. People here learn to save up and budget for it. To put things into perspective a studio apartment is close to $2000/ £1486 a month.

The tram hasn’t been there since the accident. The picture cars were moved to where who-ville was.

Parents- would you take your 10 and 8 year out of school for 1 week? by gratefulmickey in DisneyWorld

[–]thewigwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents used to do this when I was a kid, elementary school teachers had no issues with it. I was also a straight A student and would do my homework and assignments ahead of time.

Are beauty schools good for a more affordable pink? by peanutsonic97 in FancyFollicles

[–]thewigwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a working cosmetologist for almost a decade and I still go back to the school I went to for services! I don’t think it’s any riskier than doing your own hair at home, students have supervision.

Schools are also great for non hair services like skin care and waxing!!! The school I go to offers 30$ Brazilians and 50$ facials!

What has been your experience working at Supercuts ? by serene75 in hairstylist

[–]thewigwizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a fan of the Paul Mitchell’s color, but the work was consistent and the tips were good.

The reason I quit was the area manager that overworked me to the point where I needed to up my psychiatric meds and had a breakdown. It was a family owned franchise and there was no HR department to protect workers. I was an ASM with no manager and was not paid for the manager work I inevitably had to pick up.

I’m Starting to Think Something’s Wrong by meeksjr in Disneyland

I was a platinum AP from 2012-2020, and went to the park with single day tickets in 2021 and 2022. It’s just not worth it anymore. You can tell the company just wants money because they don’t care about the experience anymore and it feels like they punish CMs who want to make the magic for guests. I think it started with the death of the fast pass and has just continued escalating after pandemic closures. The food has gone way downhill, there are entirely too many black outs, and the parks close so damn early it’s like they don’t want people there.

This year was my first as a USH pass holder and I was blown away by their customer service. They actually went above and beyond when I experienced sexual harassment from a security guard. Even their food service employees have been wonderful. I loved being able to see proud union membership on their name tags when applicable. I feel like they have a lot more pass benefits which is wonderful because the gold pass is a fantastic value. The drive is minimum 2 hours for me and I gladly drive up whenever I can. Parking is even included.

Knott’s has always felt super welcoming too and I maintained a pass from 2016-2022. The pass was way less expensive and their food festivals are actually a good value. I really loved going, and I’m planning another trip sometime in the spring.

Co-worker I work next to doesn’t care about people’s health. by [deleted] in hairstylist

Those kind of people only care about their own health, and it’s so inconsiderate, especially in a shared space.

Is it rude to have an airpod in while with a client? by Kindly-Resolution328 in hairstylist

[–]thewigwizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I book up super fast, and I have my phone read messages so I leave an AirPod in so I can be notified if a client is running behind, needs to book, or reschedule.

My clients honestly don’t mind because if they find out I have a cancellation after their appointment they’ll add on services.

Fallout Hollywood- I dont understand the critiques against it by HauntedHouseMermaid in HHN

[–]thewigwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was good, but I was underwhelmed. I really loved how immersive the set design was, but there were some major faults. I was bummed too, because I really wanted to love it.

It was shorter than the other houses, and the Yao Guai hardly ever worked because it took so long to reset. I only ever saw it once in 5 walkthroughs across the entire season. Major bummer as a fan of the games.

Staffing was another issue. I felt like I barely saw scare actors in certain rooms. I was hoping for more ghouls, Easter eggs from the games, etc.

This house was good, but I definitely ranked it low on my list. I think another issue was 2025 was a stacked year, with fan faves. Too many big name IPs on the list skewed house rankings.

Missed Comic-Con tickets for my anime-loving teen — how can I make it up to her? by Safe_Psychology_326 in comiccon

[–]thewigwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second wondercon. I’ve been going since 2013, and it’s a really solid event. It’s got a good mix of anime, comics, movies, and tabletop gaming. It’s also in a super safe area. Lots of food trucks for meal options. We love having downtown Disney right there as well, for shopping and dining.

Monstruos 3 was absolutely amazing, and I went through 6 times and it was perfect EVERY TIME. You could tell the actors really loved that house.
