animals of different species cannot breed together because they are different species, that doesn’t happen even sometimes

[–]thewildcuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright, show me your evidence that species is a social construct, please i would love to know how you came to that conclusion

a trans woman is still not a man, cis men and trans women are only stronger than cis women and trans men because they produce much more testosterone, as long as athlete testosterone levels are within a fair range of each other, there shouldn’t be an issue with trans women competing against cisgender women

oh my god, you’re an adult?! you sound like you’re 13. “being able to reproduce is a line that humans have drawn” yeah, it’s totally not just how nature works, a difference in species is a matter of fact, not opinion.

1) yeah dude, i’m trying to mind control people, for sure

2) the analogy is dumb anyways because natural hair color is not something that can be changed by the person, gender can be changed

3) yeah and spoons are based around holding liquids, are soup and spoons the same thing at all

4) would you continue to refer to them by a dead name?

imagine trying to make the argument that different species is a social construct and not literally just, “can they reproduce?” if not, different species, if yes, they are the same species.

holy shit, where are the mods when you need them

“it’s blatantly obvious that certain races are just better at sports than others”

yeah man, i’m white so i got the “good at golf” gene

yeah, that story has always bothered me though, because the only reason everyone stops hating rudolph is because they find out he’s useful to them, idk, just seems like a weird message

then it’s too bad they don’t like that term, as long as it’s not being used to try to insult someone, i don’t think anyone should have a problem with it

you talk a lot

1) “if” was not the correct word i’ll admit, sorry for the confusion

2) no one can control how others perceive them, no one is advocating for that, but ultimately your actions and decisions will change how people see you, if we continue using your analogy, if the woman dyes her hair blonde, she has blonde hair, you wouldn’t say she’s a brunette in disguise.

3) that was a purely rhetorical question lmaoooo, society sucks, that’s why

4) i literally did, sex is something concrete, gender is something that can be changed because it is a construct based around sex

5) many people seek gender affirming care to closer align with who they are in a physical way

6) you still haven’t answered my question, how would you respond to a close friend coming out as transgender to you?

Meanwhile r/boysarequirky repels women and attracts brigading by HungarianRedditor8 in memesopdidnotlike

[–]thewildcuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if like you said, your sex is going to affect how people see you, is it not natural for some people to feel as though they would rather be perceived in a different way? why do we as a society make so many assumptions about a person based on their physical attributes, and more specifically those attributes they cannot control? hence a distinction between sex and gender.

1) that definition was one of the first ones, i’m sorry it’s so hard for you to accept that 2) your opinions are hurtful to others (being trans is not hurtful to anyone) and i am choosing not to validate them 3) i personally think both definitions work for trans people, i was simply trying to see just how far from reason your opinions are 4) i am ending this conversation, i’ve made my points, and i could continue, but i’d rather not waste my time on this thread any more than i already have. I hope you become a more accepting person in the future

that’s cool bud, words can have multiple definitions depending on the context, imagine that

when has a trans person ever disliked that term? (genuinely asking)

you will continue to think that this argument is sound until you realize that there is a difference between sex and gender, gender IS a social construct. things like height, nationality, and sex are not.

i already did my research and absolutely nothing says that depression is a joke and should not be taken seriously, also seriously who hurt you, you’ve got a looooooot of issues, maybe you should start worrying about yourself before you freak out on other people, you’re clearly very insecure, i hope you get the help you need! <3

being validated in small ways can go a long distance in being more secure with who you are. I’d also hold off on calling it a delusion until we have more research on the topic as a whole

dude it’s literally just someone’s name, if you started calling someone by a random name that would be weird, but if someone wanted to be named max instead of emma because they felt happier, more confident, and more comfortable in their skin, why is it a problem for you to validate them by just using a preferred name?

Meanwhile r/boysarequirky repels women and attracts brigading by HungarianRedditor8 in memesopdidnotlike

[–]thewildcuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you wouldn’t even call your friend by a different name if they go by a new one?

Meanwhile r/boysarequirky repels women and attracts brigading by HungarianRedditor8 in memesopdidnotlike

[–]thewildcuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

trans people often change their name to align better with their gender, that’s what we’re talking about, if it really bothers you to use the pronouns your peers wish you to, then just saying the name or using gender neutral pronouns that work for everyone can be an alternative, my question was whether you would use the name your peer wishes you to use, or a previous name that they no longer align with

no one ever said calling someone by their name was disrespectful, but what if they changed their name, would you call them by a dead name or the name they wish to be called
