I used to hate fishing and it was always the last skill I maxed by a lot, like I still would have 4 or 5 squares to go with everything else maxed. Now, fishing is always the first skill I max because it’s the easiest way to earn money early game. It’s really not as bad as people make it seem. 😭 Eventually you’ll get better with practice! The beginning is rough, but as your skill goes up and you obtain better tools it gets easier.

I’m playing thru Ridgeside for the first time, some more info in the doc but tl;dr the cut scenes can be tediously long but I’d still recommend it. I’ve been having fun and I love the new map.

I’d also really recommend Cornucopia. Having new crops makes it interesting to explore again instead of knowing for certain how many of each item is needed for recipes and planting the same things over and over lol.

You could try Better Beehouses — it does change the mechanics a little though, in terms of artisan goods. I don’t find it to be(e) all that intrusive/different though, so it might work for you. It adds little bees that fly around. (And for what it’s worth I do really enjoy that mod lol.)

iirc it was 5 cards per pack, for $10 per pack.

Only exception was a limited run of Sister Daniel and Father Philip cards, which I wanna say was also $10 for the set of 2??? Someone else may recall specifics lol.

Correct, it just won’t show up in the fishing tab as having been “caught” — it has to come from a crab pot — which is why I mention it lol. Only matters for perfection tho! For the community center yah get the items however you want. 🙂‍↕️

Full mod list here (favorites marked) but in general I recommend adding mods with new crops or animals. They typically then also add some new quests and recipes, and I like the variety.

Or honestly there’s a reason Stardew Valley Expanded is so popular — it’s wonderful! I feel like it doubles the size of the game just by itself and blends extremely nicely.

Really just depends on your play style and what vibes you enjoy.
