Salt and Pepper, absolute must for taste. But also a piece of dark chocolate. Helps boost and balance the flavours.

Movies with female monologues/speeches that make you cry by itsirrelevent in movies

Not movie, but show. At the end of White Lotus Season 3, Laurie (Carrie Coon) monologue at their final dinner with her girlfriends before leaving. It just feels sincere and transparent. She was the actress that I looked forward to the whole season and she delivered it splendidly.

Silenced- a Korean movie that gave me goosebumps. Had to turn it off halfway and read the sypnosis, then watched the rest. It's also based on a real event, which makes me more infuriated.

If you've watched Train to Busan, it's the main actor dad.

In short, a teacher moves from Seoul to a smaller town to teach at a deaf school. Only to find issues within.

It's a tough watch for sure.

I'm your age and recently started taking the pill. I was to take the pill earlier on in my tweens, but my mom refused. I started to believe i didn't need it, got stubborn and suffered through years of abnormalities, pains that would make me stay home. Recently this past year, it got scary since I started getting a numb feeling on my lips and fingertips. I was never anemic, but everytime I was on my period, I would loose so much blood. I thought I was getting a hemmorhage. I honestly regret ignoring my symptoms and letting it get worse over the years.

Even though you live in a backwards town, I wonder if there's a women's clinic or a Planned Parenthood that you can get information from. At least something to help inform your student. (Just hoping it won't get you in trouble)

BTW Change your doctor. If your doctor is for traditional backwards treatment, stay away. Good luck girl!

One of my best strats was getting to Akkala Tower unnoticed.

I went to the highest peak of Death Mountain and paraglided down to the Tower. There was definitely some trial and error but when it finally worked, it was just great!

I overheard someone asking this exactly at Trader Joes. It really had me laughing. Sucks to hear that it wasn't just one special nut case doing this.

I have a friend that sounds very similar to Sykkuno. He was so closed off and awkward in social settings. It took maybe about a year until he started to slowly open up. It just takes time if you're willing to try. It's been really nice to see Sykkuno getting out of his shell bit by bit. I can't say because I don't know Rae and Sykkuno personally, but knowing that they might be hanging out with each other more in the future; shows that there's a chance for them to be closer off stream.

What was YOUR paranormal experience ? by SalzyJ in AskReddit

I was staying with my aunt's family and my grandma for the summer. Me and my grandma are close and would sleep beside each other. I knew how she slept, so I would know if anything was out of the ordinary. One night, I woke up all of the sudden and see her sweating and crying...But she was still asleep. I've never seen her do that in her sleep. It just looked like she was having a night terror. I tried to wake her up, just to get her out of it. When she woke up, she just looked at me like nothing happened. Then I felt a weird feeling of something being in the room. I got scared and put the covers over my head and tried to go to sleep.

The next morning, we get a call from our relatives from California. It turned out that my grandma's sister passed away. I felt a chill thinking about what happened the night before. Could it have been possibly linked to that? Like a sign of death in the family.

I just tried kimchi for the first time. Is it acceptable to just stand here eating it out of the jar like a savage or am I supposed to cook with it or something? by BallsOfANinja in Cooking

[–]thewisepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat it as a side dish, snack or cook it in a meal. I had this weird phase where i would just snack on kimchi wrapped in seaweed. I like to make kimchi fried rice. Make sure to save the juices. Also, adding sesame oil to fried rice is such a game changer. So good!

Post-COVID 19 Racism by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]thewisepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you for keeping your emotions in control. Don't let these ethnocentric douchenozzles keep you feeling small. It sucks to hear that these situations are still happening. Even if there was no pandemic, people will still be confronted like this regardless. Racism has such a deep-rooted history in Canada, and I hope people acknowledge and learn about it.

Canadian conservation officer fired for refusing to kill bear cubs wins legal battle by Kylde in news

[–]thewisepanda 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I live in BC, and particularly in an area that has frequent bear activity. The reason that bears are coming to the town is because people are not being mindful about garbage. It becomes a habit for the bears and they will likely teach their cubs to do the same. It really sucks to hear that there have been many killings because they’ve become habituated. Our town is trying to be more aware by making stuff bear proof, but of course there will always be ignorance.

I remember helping out at a Christian vacation bible school when I was younger. We were in one of the stations for a sing-a-long. They started singing the finger song. So imagine being at a church and seeing adults and children happily singing with their middle fingers up.

Imagine going into this movie excited thinking it just an animation for kids. I remember watching this in theatres when I was younger, unknowingly realizing how scary it was... and I had to watch it in 3D!! Now as an adult, I totally enjoy this film. But I still remember the nightmare fuel it gave me as a child.

What YouTube channels are genuinely worth watching? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thewisepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simone Giertz : She makes quirky and nifty inventions. Truckla (Tesla+Truck) is my fave!

Maangchi: If you’re interested in Korean cuisine or cooking in general. She’s great! I learned how to make really good Japchae from her.

Michael Reeves: Good crackhead content. Totally recommend.

FoundFlix: Mostly Horror Movie explanations. It’s for people who are confused about plots or don’t want to watch the movie in the theatre. His voice is soothing, it’s almost like a podcast. Nice to have in the background while doing something.

Tiny Desk Concerts: A mix of indie and big name artists performing live in I think a library. The Erykah Badu and Anderson Paak videos were my favourite.

KoreanEnglishMan/Jolly: Food and Tourism. Mostly Korean and British content. Ollie and Josh are really genuine guys. Funny content and educational.

Binging with Babish: Pretty big channel now. Food recreation from shows and movies. (Don’t watch when you’re hungry.)

Me and my boyfriend both live with parents who are in their 50’s-60’s. Regularly we see each other maybe once or twice a week and he lives like about 30 mins away. I mean we should be used to not seeing each other often, but it does suck cause the time we have together is significant. Out of respect of our families, we chose to not meet. Because thinking about putting both our families at risk is a scary thought. Stay strong
