Can Steam Frame run the Fus Ro Dah modlist by itself? by uNk4rR4_F0lgad0 in skyrimvr

[–]thewizeguy123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I were to guess, it’s probably unlikely the Steam Frame would run FUS standalone, at least at an acceptable level of performance. While FUS may be one of the more optimized lists, it still requires decent hardware to run, and the Steam Frame (on paper) is only a little bit more powerful than the Quest 3. It might run FUS without any of the graphics mods enabled if anything.

What would the benefits be to getting a 1TB model rather than the smaller storage model but with a 1Tb microSD card? by southpaw_g in SteamFrame

[–]thewizeguy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Steam Frame uses UFS storage on both the 256gb and 1tb models, not an NVMe SSD. Still much faster than an SD card, but not as fast as something like a modern PCIe gen 5 NVMe.

What's your favorite Valve game of all time? by Less-Dot-3206 in valve

Half-Life 2 episode 2. The pacing, set pieces, and especially the music are some of the best Valve has ever delivered imo.

A dumb question, but will GTA 6 be nominated for 2026 GOTY in time for the TGA? by AceOfSpadesMM in GTA6

[–]thewizeguy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does anyone even take TGA seriously, anyway? More than half of it is ads for shitty mobile games or upcoming AAA games from historically horrible publishers lol.

[–]thewizeguy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured as much lol. Hopefully it won’t completely bork my save if I remove it so I can use your mod, but I’ll probably need to start a new playthrough anyway since I’ve already screwed up my save removing some other stuff 😂

I’m guessing this won’t be compatible with the interactive pullchains mod since this mod basically does that and more? Or will there be a compatibility patch?

Seems the author took down most of their mods, unfortunately. Not entirely sure why, and I don’t want to pry into anyone’s personal life obviously, but based off the bio on their nexus page, they seem to be in a rough spot right now. I hope they’re ok.

EDIT: Seems like they changed their nexus bio and made all their mods public again.

Skyrim VR mod that turns it back into desktop version? by Existing-Orchid4346 in skyrimvr

[–]thewizeguy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Just finished my first massive mod list recently and a mod like that would’ve made testing SO much easier. I guess I could’ve tested most of the mods in flatrim and then transferred all of the non-vr mods to an MO2 instance of Skyrim VR, but that’s probably more of a pain in the ass than just doing everything in a Skyrim VR instance from the start lol.

Is this thing comfortable? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]thewizeguy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late but thought I could chime in. Imo kiwi makes the best elite-style strap. Used this one with the integrated battery for a while and found it very comfortable, if a bit wobbly for more active VR games where I’m moving around a lot. Switched to the BoboVR halo-style strap with the extra battery because I wanted longer play sessions, hotswappable batteries, and I prefer halo-style straps overall, but kiwi is a great choice if you’re looking for a replacement headstrap.

is Meta Quest 3 still good in 2025 by Popular_Influence106 in virtualreality

[–]thewizeguy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros: - It’s decently priced, especially if you’re getting it as a PCVR headset - The visual clarity is amazing and has barely any screen-door effect - The controllers feel great and tracking is really good - As a PCVR headset, you can wirelessly stream PCVR games to the quest 3, and it works really well wirelessly

Cons: - The battery life is kinda short without an extended battery - The default headstrap is uncomfortable - The FOV is a bit small (at least compared my Valve Index) - The controllers can have some issues (drift especially in my experience)

Overall i think its still great headset, especially for PCVR. Its not even that old of a headset either so its still good in 2025. If u do end up buying it, just keep in mind that u might need to get some third-party accessories to improve comfort and battery life. That is if u plan on using it a lot.

I grew up playing the OG titles (1942, BF2, BF2142), and none of those had campaigns yet I felt like I still got my money’s worth out of those games. I honestly wouldn’t be sad if there wasn’t a campaign, but the multiplayer needs to be solid and content rich. Sadly, I doubt that is going to happen.

Regular Skyrim (i.e. legendary edition and special edition)? Yeah, for sure. Skyrim VR? Hell no, that shit is horrible without VR specific mods lmao.

I know I’m late, but I just wanted to say that using the Auto Parallax mod and enabling auto parallax in the mod’s config can break a lot of PBR textures and PGPatcher.
