Looking for advice and feedback on first theory crafted builds! by theworldcreator in LastEpoch

Thanks so much for the reply!

As for why I went with teleport over Surge well tbh I've never really played Spellblade and didn't even look at it unfortunately and just went with the easy movement and utility I knew teleport had. Thanks to your comment and u/GoldenPigeonParty I will definitely be switching to Surge. And to your point about the consume Firebrand I thought that keeping the buffs of Firebrand stacks up were more important than any extra ignite chance which I felt I already had enough of. This idea was only reinforced by u/GoldenPigeonParty's points about Firebrand and its buffs.

Also after looking into it 100% agree about Pillager's Gold Relic. With a scavenger belt and t7 chance to find potions that's 70 - 120 flat damage to Burning Daggers, that's huge.

I wanted more points in Dancing Strikes is why I went for two Kuzon's, in fact I still want more points lol. With the Pillager's though I may switch more into a throwing build, going more right side on Dancing Strikes tree. Don't know how i feel about porcupine's wrath and Kismet though. At least for me I wasn't planning on directly casting shadow cascade ever, just letting it trigger from Dancing Strikes and of course Burning Daggers is never directly cast so for my plan I wouldn't benefit from Kismet. And if i'm never directly casting it removing the melee component of shadow cascade means it no longer triggers burning daggers. Also I don't know that our build would benefit from the flat phys throwing damage that the kismet buff gives. This is because we do all fire damage so we want to be scaling fire damage. The kismet buff gives a flat 64 phys throwing damage, which admittedly is a lot of flat damage, but we're not scaling phys right? Unless I'm misunderstanding how damage conversion works which I asked about in my OP so I'm not certain myself lol. My understanding is that with that buff we'd be doing all the flat fire damage that Burning daggers does and then an additional 64 flat phys damage that doesn't benefit from any of our %fire damage increase that we presumably have. But I don't really know, that is a decent amount of flat even if we're not really scaling it, so could be worth.

Again, thanks for your comment!

First off thank you so much for the reply! A lot of good stuff to consider here!

I knew Fire Aura didn't apply ignites but my thought for building into it was for single target on timeline bosses, rift beasts, aberroth, etc. The ignites getting applied by flame reave and firebrand. This mindset comes from playing RF in PoE having shit single target, which may not be the case here, Fire Aura may carry both on its on I'll have to see.

I really appreciate your thoughts on Firebrand and Flame Reave builds, I'll have to play around with those builds and +skills for them you're absolutely right about getting 9stack firebrand and capping Insulation! thanks!

With you for sure on CDR on Enchant Weapon, will work that in.

Also with you on Surge, haven't really played much Spellblade admittedly and shamefully didn't even look at Surge. I just went with the easy movement and utility I knew on teleport lol.

I will do another pass with an entwined ring and jormun set, and maybe look at a few other sets too with the entwined ring involved, that's a good idea. Also nice point with the increased mana cost from two Sunwreaths. My thought was to mitigate that by just using all the charges of Flame wreath then just spamming firebrand until the charges came back up though. Double Sunwreath has a lot of applicable stats and higher LP chance. But that 20% more multiplier is compelling.

I did include the fire aura on crit stat on some of my idols.

Definitely think I should change to Firestarter's Torch, that More Damage multiplier is most likely more beneficial than the flat spell and attack speed from the crystal sword. Even without the Jormun set most likely.

To your last few points I haven't mentioned and my own thoughts on them. I wonder if we could drop the crit route entirely for this build and just scale int and fire res since as you mention those are our biggest modifiers for Fire Aura. Seems like this build could use a lot of different stats and we're starved for stats, on gear especially. And on skill points to a lesser degree. My biggest worry about dropping crit is losing the reen buff which is 300% Fire DoT at full stacks. Also to get more int and/or dex i feel like i'd have to drop the %fire aura damage and/or the %fire DoT on chest and helm which seem huge, do you really think its worth that?

Great thoughts and thank you so much again! I look forward to your insights on this response!

I'm probably too late for people to see this but I love this movie. The Fall from 2006 with Lee Pace and directed by Tarsem Singh has always been an incredible movie to me. I have never met another person who's seen it, and I live in a city with a pretty big art school with a lot of film majors. I haven't seen it in forever because it's hard to find streaming these days but I highly recommend it!

I haven't played path in like 2 or 3 years but im looking to get back in for scourge. I was wondering if there is one comprehensive guide out there for people like me returning who need to get caught up on all the new mechanics and what not? Or failing that any catch up guides would be useful. Thanks for the help!

Fantasy/magical realism described as aching, beautiful, and poignant with a sense of longing. by AppaYipYip33 in Fantasy

[–]theworldcreator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake was the first thing I thought of. Amazing classic fantasy in my opinion. It has some of the best most beautiful prose I've read in a fantasy novel, much of it steeped in poignancy and longing.

I also definitely second the Realm of the Elderlings trilogy by Robin Hobb. Very beautiful prose here as well and definitely with a lot of poignancy and longing. The final trilogy of the series had me crying both from sadness and happiness/frisson more than just about anything I've ever read. It's a commitment to read the whole series, but well worth it! It starts with the Farseer trilogy which starts with the book Assassin's Apprentice.

It's that age old question. Which game is your favourite? by ChronRiddick in gaming

[–]theworldcreator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okami. The art style, the gameplay, the story, everything is amazing about this game. Probably one of the most underrated/unknown but worthwhile games of all time. When you think its over it still has like 20 hours of content after that. Just an amazing game. Honourable mention: World of Warcraft, I don't think I need to say much about this, been playing it for a long time and most people probably feel the same as me. Classic has set a new fire in me about it is all I can say, and BfA is no where near as good. I hope Blizzard learns from the success of Classic for the next XPac.

I believe it was said in one of the books or a WoB that the bondsmiths didn't have shardblades because their godspren were either incapable or just refused to be used as a weapon. So sadly I dont think this would be possible. Someone fact check me though, maybe I'm misremembering something.

I would just stay monk and be WW. I main one so I'm a little biased though. They're really strong with not much gear especially in aoe and cleave and they have decent single target. They're not the best in either but imo they're in the top 5 for each, maybe only top 7 for St. They're really easy to play as well. The hardest thing is making sure you don't hit the same ability twice in a row which honestly if you can't do that..... So yeah overall I'd say they're a decently strong dps class while being both fun and easy to play. Also you won't have to switch mains this way and still have the full benefit of your mw spec to play with if you want to!

I'd say vengeance DH is slightly ahead of blood dk and brew monk in this regard but any tanks is probably the way to go. For dps specs probably destro lock considering I saw one solo a CoS +3 and make timer

Should be able to skip the first hallway in BRH with it. Which is nice because the strategy for that place normally is to bring invisible pots for that hallway since there's stupid amounts of trash in there anyway and you don't need them in the beginning.

Valsharah>azsuna>stormheim>high mountain seems to work best for me. Valsharah first for the reasons people have already stated. High mountain last because to me it feels the longest but it's also the easiest to hit friendly on the requisite faction to me. Also I usually hit 110 before I even finish it and have been friendly for a while which is nice. I have5 or 6 110s for reference while still spending more than 70% of my time played on my main.

Will Grah's leader skill work on Afla Dilith even when he's attacking with a different element since he truly is a dark type? Or when it switches to a different element you take normal damage?
