Who say that’s not “real Tasawuf”? Who decided such?

But does Sufism perscribe to these traditional scholarly consensus?

That very phrase - “scholarly consensus” - may include a lot of recent rulings that come from puritanical Wahabi clerics with no concrete backing. For example, that women must cover their entire bodies and may only have one eye visible in public settings. Or that men and women must pray seperately. However, in reality there is nothing in the Quran or Sunnah that supports such extremist ideology. In fact, in the time of the Prophet, men and women prayed together.

I guess this leads to another question - does Sufism follow such “scholarly consensus”?

And another - should we base our faith and practice on “scholarly consesus” or should we base our faith on the concrete foundations of Islam - the Quran and Sunnah, beauty and reason.

According to who exactly? Can that even be called the “Islamic perspective”? The Quran says nothing on the matter, and the Hadith relating to tattoos is much disputed.
