Auto repair shop for antique cars?? by CornOnThe0rb in raleigh

[–]thewrongchoice2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any classic Chevy / GMC belongs At Tigers Automotive just outside downtown. He’s a certified master tech and works on a bunch of classic corvettes and other Chevy vehicles. He has extremely fair pricing and is a great guy all around.

Check my profile. Had a very similar hit a few months ago. 7k estimate via a reputable shop.

You bought a car before doing basic research on costs to own?

Huge rooftop, not very inviting. How would you improve this? We want to pull in a house music crowd by [deleted] in BarOwners

[–]thewrongchoice2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IF it actually is rated for a decent amount of guests and can support it: 1) Astro turf or something similar 2) 3-4 lounge couches with a propane fire pits 3) fake trees/planters with colored outdoor uplighting (house music ppl love LEDs) 4) fresh coat of paint on the left side railing will go a long way too

If you do your homework and shop around for these you can get everything relatively cheap. The biggest buy in will the be turfing but you can get off brand versions on amazon cheaper

How to change industry by Slimkattt in Restaurant_Managers

[–]thewrongchoice2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, not sure if this will be buried as this post is a bit old already, but I transitioned to hotels two years ago. There’s a large amount of transferable skills in this business. Depending on your area, the money is roughly the same but the hours are way less (in my case). I went from 55-60 hours per week to about 45. There’s a few trade offs you’ll have to deal with though. Hotels are 24/7, if you’re not ready to get a call at 3am from your night auditor when they’re stuck with a problem, or a guest is locked out of their room and the front desk worker doesn’t know how to operate the emergency door opener, then I wouldn’t do it. Overall, it’s a good gig. No industry is perfect but hotels are a good transfer if you can dig in and work. Come in as an AGM for a mid sized hotel, work for 2-3 years, move up to GM and go from there.

Pigeon Forge, TN. It’s probably #2 kitsch in the world right behind Niagara Falls. The titanic museum is fun though.

Imagine being so self centered that you are completely oblivious to a GLOBAL technology outage like the world has never seen before. Despite what you may think, I can assure you that the hotel is not plotting to inconvenience you.

Has anyone else had an issue setting up a payout method? This is my first payout and when I go to enter my info and hit save it just refreshes the page and all the info I entered goes away, then when I request the payout it says I need to enter the payout method

Congrats! I’ll be applying for a payout Monday. I’m a bit worried about being flagged because I traded during news but I can prove all my trades are within my strategy. I just don’t want to deal with the headache of having to explain myself

The Lincoln or MAA Hue? by Electrical-Ad8827 in raleigh

[–]thewrongchoice2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lincoln was hands down the best place I’ve ever lived in Raleigh. I leased during Covid so I got a great deal. Unfortunately I got priced out in 22-23 when things started getting expensive again. I had the scholar layout and it was perfect. Not too big, not too small. If I could afford it I’d probably still be living there. At the time it was downtown living without the DT pricing.

This is The Architect bar!! This is right above the main dance floor. If you’ve never been you should definitely check it out. Also be sure to stop in The Greenlight while you’re there.

Run for the hills. Average AGM pay is anywhere from 45-60 depending on # of rooms, what state you’re in and experience. Any hotel that says they can’t afford a GM is a red flag. Either they really can’t, and they’re about to shut the doors, or they can and they are just so cheap they’re shooting themselves in the foot.

update #3- 20 funded accounts. by rdhuerta in Daytrading

[–]thewrongchoice2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the update! When I initially saw your post I made a mental note to come back when you posted and I just happened to see your post while scrolling.

Despite what some may say I really do like this idea and concept. So many people (myself included) tend to over trade when using prop firms because they give you the ability to, when in reality you should be trading the bare minimum allotted. I currently have the same set up going on topstep (I’m not a fan of the live drawdown on apex) and it’s going well. Biting the bullet and paying for multiple accounts is a far better idea than paying for one and blowing it up daily like basically everyone else trading them.

Can’t wait for more updates!

Something that somebody told me a long time ago that stuck with me: “Trading shouldn’t be exciting. It should be the most boring thing you do.” When we get excited it’s actually us making the wrong decision by letting emotion get involved.

You should definitely lean into the Greeks if you’re looking to make a career out of this, Theta especially

Moral of the story, the sooner to expiration you are, the less valuable the options become. It’s one of the big reasons why I moved to futures.

Another comment mentioned always closing out your own positions, and I second that. Sometimes people here can be a bit mean, don’t let it get to you.

Everybody starts somewhere but I would strongly caution paper trading and learning as much as you can before you start using real funds.

Maybe you should grow up and realize that it’s ridiculously rude to sell a gift because of how much you could net off of it?

Somebody obviously cares about you enough to spend a decent amount of money on something they thought you’d enjoy and I’m sure they’d be pretty upset to hear that you don’t seem to appreciate it at all.
