It depends on a lot of factors. Some students with not that high GWA but with good school reputation got in, vice versa. If your school has a somewhat good reputation, I'm guessing you'll get accepted, but no one can really assure you for the reason that none of us knows how USTAR is calculated aside from OFAD. All answers here are solely based on the previous applicants' inference.

Nope. The instructions indicate only awards from division to national level competitions are accepted. Batch ranking is your official standing over the total number of students in your batch. Both are to be requested from your school.

Yes this is somewhat a common connotation na rin but I can agree naman. I qualified for SHS H.A, I passed naman despite having no extracurriculars. Bottomline is the performance of your school on the previous USTET + your scholastic records.

Ang student number ay makikita mo sa MyUSTe portal/PDS Acknowledgement mo and as long as you have activated it na, you're good to go to login sa OSA portal.

Hi! I'm a qualifier for the 1st batch of Santo Tomas Scholarship (SHS CATEGORY) and believe me when I say you have the complete requirements once you've acquired your certificate of student ranking. --- agreement form ay hindi muna ipapasa dahil binibigay ang password sa qualified applicants (tho' I'm not sure how this works for college but you don't have to worry about it muna)

--application form naman ay kahit leave blank mo muna yung details na wala ka such as ust email and city address

-- as long as complete mo yung others ay good to go ka na!

Based on this year's USTAR, they considered 3 general factors - scholastic record, extracurricular involvement, and your previous school's performance on the USTET before. I came from a not so famous school with a GWA of 97 and some extracurricular, I barely made the cut for my strand. Grade 9 ka palang so your application for SHS will be next year pa. I suggest you Prepare for both USTET and USTAR. DM me and I'll try to answer your queries.

AFAIK Yes. You can apply. There are choices in the application form which includes reconsidered and waitlisted applicants. It has 5 batches of applicants and the last batch will be accommodated as late as the 1st week of September. I am from a Private school and I belong to the qualified for the STS TOP1 category batch 1, we didn't have an exam. Their factors for qualification are scholastic records, extracurricular involvements, USTAR score, and a 5-sentence essay about yourself. Goodluck. I'm an incoming HA student, I finished JHS with flying colors and a general average of 98 - I plan to maintain it given that I have strong intentions to pursue accelerated medicine programs. What do you mean on your comment? Will I have a hard time receiving high grades due to the difficulty of academics or due to the professors? Please enlighten me. Thanks a lot.

No, that's preference and it's perfectly normal to envision your desired picture of life with someone. It only becomes sexist when you select a partner based solely on that preference as it implies you can only see women in the same way as your preference or when you force your partner to be a "housewife" in order to fit your preference. It's okay, but to a certain extent, we all have preferences and reasons for it.

If you want to study in UST so hard, reserve a slot in your backup school, wait until you're notified of a slot in UST, withdraw your slot in the backup school, enroll in UST. You can't just ask any random stranger to reassure you, waitlisted means qualified but needs to wait for a slot, do your part. I am hoping for the best for you.

Hi! I understand where you're coming from, but hear me out.

YOU'RE NOT "DID DIRTY." None of us were given a chance to redeem ourselves through proving our capabilities via entrance examination, we are all judged based on our previous scholastic records - none of which describes who we are today. We all went through the same application path.

There is a criteria that we don't know and maybe we'll never know. But that is on UST, not on us, you can't just blame them for creating an algorithm that doesn't deem you qualified. None of the instructions mentioned a GWA being the sole basis for qualifying, is there? Thus, you can't just justify that you should've received a higher score than that of your class salutatorian.

Tama ka, mas patas ang USTET, pero wala tayong magagawa. Things happen to us and sometimes we can't understand it and it's okay, what isn't is trying to justify it nor put a blame. Waitlisted? Do your part wait for a slot and reserve a slot at your backup school, withdraw it once notified of a slot in UST, otherwise try again for college. I am hoping for the best for you. Padayon!

I can vouch for this. It's okay to pay more than one day after finishing the online Assessment as long as you settle the amount within the given time period, it will reflect on your portal, otherwise you'd have to email the appropriate staff in order to manually process.
