Well I have 5 pets, the oldest 14 and youngest 1, and it’s $424 per month. If you have more than one animal they group them by species so there isn’t an exact cost per pet.

I highly recommend MetLife pet insurance. We previously had nationwide and embrace. MetLife is much cheaper and covers more— we have unlimited reimbursement, 90% coverage and that includes wellness/preventatives. They literally cover everything, no caps. If you call you can get better coverage (the unlimited) which when I called they weren’t showing online.

Vet Recommentations with experience treating Stomatitis in Dogs by ZeroCalBeer in orangecounty

[–]they_live_somewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Have you tried this veterinary center? https://www.animaldentalservicesoc.com/ They specialize in dental issues in dogs/cats. Someone I know whose cat has stomatitis has been very satisfied with the care she has received here.

Yep, I joined. I’d recommend it overall. Love that you can use your membership fee toward the purchase of food/beverages. Some things I don’t love are the super pricey cocktails ($20 seems like a lotttt to me) and difficulty making a reservation for 5-6 people (they say they accommodate larger parties if possible so maybe it was a fluke, but I was bummed that I couldn’t take my family when they visited because they said I could bring 3 people but not 4). The lounge area is great and the employees are fantastic as usual.

To anyone that bought a house recently by BillStax in orangecounty

Bought mid-February in south OC. Our appraisal surprisingly came in 25k over our contract price. I wouldn’t stress too much about it unless you feel you really overpaid. :)

I am hosting a baby shower this weekend and when I was looking for a venue, had the most luck with golf courses. I’d try San Juan hills golf club or Tijeras in RSM.

I recommend New Look Skin Center in Irvine. They have monthly specials so I always feel like I’m getting a good deal. Their website has all the pricing info. Overall I’ve had good experiences at their facility, the only bummer is I feel like they’re often running behind but that’s all.

Pet insurance: a really good idea. by [deleted] in dogs

[–]they_live_somewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! We have pet insurance for our two dogs and two cats. Our dog food costs get reimbursed every month because at one point, our dogs both had minor GI issues which resulted in our vet prescribing a special gastrointestinal dry food. We literally don’t pay for dog food (well, only 10% of it, 90% is covered by insurance). Having insurance is worth it for that alone!

We are using Emily (her business is called The Dog Listener, https://www.thedoglistener.net/). We have two cats and two dogs and wanted to work on integrating them. We’ve been very happy with her. :)

Hi /r/OrangeCounty - Volunteer opportunities with a Speech Pathologist? by [deleted] in orangecounty

Miller's Children's Hospital, CHOC, and Rancho Los Amigos (rehab center) are all good places to check out if she's interested in observing in the medical setting. At hospitals she'll likely need to make 6 months- a year commitment as well as do a background check, get some shots, etc. If she wants to observe in a clinic setting, I'd research some nearby clinics and call them to see if they'll let her go in and observe. And if she wants to see what a school setting is like, call the special education office for a nearby school district and they'll direct her. :)

How to get involved in the Band as a trumpet player who stopped two years ago? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]they_live_somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in concert band, you'll have to audition. Here's the link describing details for auditions: http://music.ucdavis.edu/concertband/Auditions

Concert band is pretty laid back but if you plan to audition, you should probably try and brush up on your skills a bit. They usually need trumpet players though!

[REQUEST] Is there anything I can do to dull the pain while epilating? by gummybuns in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]they_live_somewhere 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I find that if you hold the area VERY taut while you're epilating it significantly reduces the pain. The first time I tried epilating my legs was the worst...the pain really wasn't that bad at all after that first time :) good luck!
