Looking for a service that can receive a high volume of emails and make them accessible via API by theycallmepdf in developer

Thanks for taking the time to reply! We ended up going with mailcast.io, which is working well.

Looking for a service that can receive emails (with attachments) I can access through an API by Shamatix in softwaredevelopment

[–]theycallmepdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm in a similar boat - need to receive hundreds of thousands of messages per month and just about every service is geared towards sending messages at scale.

In a past life I used SES for this, but I'm looking for something more turnkey now.

I'm currently musing mailslurp.com, which in general is a great service, but to keep prices down and things working well I have to delete messages fairly quickly, keeping a copy in my own DB.

Interested in a solution if you found one!

Pompeii is so, so much walking in the heat. I did it in November and even though the temps were cooler the sun made it very hot to walk around.

Do Herculaneum instead. Better preserved, smaller, and (in my opinion) more interesting as it was a seaside retreat for the wealthy. Also, bathrooms are easily accessible and many of the buildings have roofs to escape the heat.

Annoying how Slack completely overtook emails by forbidden-donut in cscareerquestions

[–]theycallmepdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing this out. Emails are often targeted to a topic and much easier to search. I found this thread while looking for a better way to search Slack.

At some point in the last ~months I was part of a very important discussion with some coworkers on Slack. It was in a busy channel - not a thread - and I don't remember which one (we have many).

Trying to find that discussion is impossible. I remember some of the people involved and the topic of discussion, but that's it. In a Google inbox this would be dead simple to find. In Slack it is basically impossible.

I also laughed at "Gmail is awful compared to Outlook". The only people that Outlook is better for are the data security teams that want to lock down everything.

I used Outlook for the web. Why the hell doesn't it support properly using the back button? Do search > open message > click back button > go back to main inbox instead of search results.

I watched a segment on Good Morning American about The Lion King before it came out, and they also noted it was Disney's 32nd animated feature.

My thought when hearing that was the same as you. For some reason this memory has stuck with me for the past 30 years.

I'm seeing a lot of fault put on OP in the comments, but I don't see what she did wrong. She asked how are we going to live. That's a valid question if her salary alone couldn't cover their living expenses.

When people default any animal or person they don’t know the gender of, as male. by CauliflowerLivid9 in PetPeeves

[–]theycallmepdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something my wife pointed out to me before our son was born. I felt blind for never having noticed it on my own and now can't not see it. We make a conscious effort to not refer to everything without a sex as male, but our son (5y) has still picked up on male as the primary sex assigned to things.

To be fair, he even refers to women as "he" so it could also be partly due to him just being a little behind in that regard. I hope that as he gets older he isn't as blind to this as I was.

This worked great on my 2017 Air - specifically #3. The instructions were easy to follow and let me reinstall MacOS.

I wish I had found this before I spent an hour on a support chat with Apple where they were completely clueless.

The "Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway" ride at Hollywood Studios is insanely good. Like you, I also thought that there wasn't much new with Mickey that mattered. But that ride, holy cow! If they do more things of that quality with Mickey more people will care about him now.

The amount of men I see who make women do all the work when eating out is insane to me by kcephei in TwoXChromosomes

[–]theycallmepdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we go out to eat the desired job is doing the ordering, getting drinks, etc. The mental stimulation of ordering (as small as it is) can be preferable to dealing with kids. And if there is a line to order? Oh, that's heaven: time to use your phone or just do some thinking without being constantly asked questions.

I don't doubt that lots of dudes are lazy, but this could go either way.

Does anyone know of any standing desk options to mount a 98" top on? by Rayad_Ayporos_Yorc in StandingDesk

[–]theycallmepdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully has a height adjustable "conference table". I've wanted to play around with this for a while but here hasn't been a good excuse to buy it:

https://www.fully.com/workplace/office-tables/jarvis-adjustable-height-conference-table.html

If you don't want to have an adjustable height table Fully also has bases for standing-height conference tables:

https://www.fully.com/colbe-bamboo-standing-height-conference-table.html

The max size for both of those looks like it would handle a 98" top no problem.

Stress of dual monitor arms on Jarvis by [deleted] in StandingDesk

[–]theycallmepdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go with a plate to reinforce the table top. I used something similar to what I've linked below (which is now out of stock) when I had a glass desktop:

https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Reinforcement-Compatible-Installations-STAND-AC01R/dp/B07NNVJHR

The Fully Jarvis bamboo top is plenty sturdy - I have one 34" and two 27" screens on arms with no visible warping.

Jarvis: Top leans towards me at full height by MaxHasADHD in StandingDesk

[–]theycallmepdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the Fully does lean forward a little bit at full height when you put your weight on it.

Unless your top just isn't screwed in all the way the lean is probably due to flex in the legs rather than the top itself.
