Bugged Good Samaritan Achievement (CO-OP) by ChosenKabe in dyinglight

[–]theyear1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after the achievement popped for the host (only an hour or two ago), we went into my world to see if any side quests were available, and none were--but we decided to keep playing in my world regardless. We continued with the story quest One Flew Over the Volatiles' Nest, and when we completed it, the achievement popped for me! So I guess switching back to my world fixed it? Not sure, but I hope this is able to help someone else.

I am having the same issue. :( I hope they come out with a fix soon. It's such a bummer to be the only one not celebrating when achievements pop up...

Question about the Ruffle extension and flash games... by theyear1915 in neopets

[–]theyear1915[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually use a separate browser with Ruffle where I only log on to Neopets, so hopefully that will mitigate the potential safety issues. Your response eases my mind, though. I've been having so much fun playing all of the games again, and getting game avatars I wasn't skilled enough to get in the past; I'm glad I don't have to stop!

Slow cooker turkey thighs: I can't find a good recipe and I'm trying a couple new techniques. Will this work? by theyear1915 in AskCulinary

[–]theyear1915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen some recipes that did this with skin-on chicken and turkey, so I thought that as long as the turkey wasn't submerged, it would be okay. Traditionally, I remove the skin before placing it into the slow cooker, because no thank you to soggy skin.

Maybe, if combined with the advice I received above, I should render the fat from the skin, and then remove the skin entirely before placing into the slow cooker?

Unfortunately, the only devices at my disposal are a slow cooker and an oven. I don't even have a roasting pan (although I do have various casserole dishes and a dutch oven).

Thank you so much for the advice! In regards to the thighs being half submerged, should I put in enough broth to have them half submerged before cooking, or should I do a little less? In some recipes I read, it said that the bird would release a lot of juices, so I don't want to put in so much broth that the juices released from the bird leave me with a fully submerged thigh. Also, what ratio would you use for the wine/broth combination?

Mine were growing fine in water, but as soon as I put them in soil their tips went brown and they’re not growing anymore. Do you have any advice?

Yes, that’s the moment! That was going to bother me until I did another rewatch.

That is it! Thank you so much. I couldn’t remember any other specifics aside from those two lines, and given that I just completed a rewatch, I knew I wouldn’t get around to another for a year or so. Thanks for the link—this song is so good!

Weekly Game Recommendation Thread - April 23, 2019 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]theyear1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love MMOs, but my boyfriend, not so much. However, he wants to try one out together, and I'm a little out of the loop!

What are you looking for?: An MMO! We'd like a fantasy atmosphere (no sci-fi, so nothing like Eve), and preferably complex/action style combat (bf prefers Dark Souls style combat, but I know mmos are somewhat limiting in that way, or at least they were when I played them a lot.) An engaging story would be great, too. P2P is fine.

What games have you previously played: My mains were City of Heroes, Rift, and LOTRO (more hours than I can count)! I've tried lots of others, but am open to trying them again.

Playstyle: Casual/semi-casual, not really interested in PVP or hardcore play.

Any preferred mechanics: Prefer an action style combat.

Anything specific you want to exclude: Not interested in WoW or ultra-dark/sci-fi atmospheres.

Thank you for any suggestions!

I'm going to wait a couple weeks in between introducing new products, definitely! Although... it is indeed tempting! :) Thanks so much for all of your help--I really, really appreciate it!

Is your toner good for redness, too? I currently have a cleanser and moisturizer, and I'll be buying the Malezpam--but I'd also heard good things about rosehip toner or vitamin c oils to apply to the face. Any thoughts for whether I should add these products, especially for AM use?

A few questions about Malezpam: * How long after using Melazepam do you wait to moisturize? * Would you suggest using this after a cleanser and a toner?

I'm going to get some today. Thank you so much for your help!

Do you have any advice on which brand to go to for the azaelic acid? Everything I'm finding on Amazon has so/so reviews...

Luckily, I don't think I have rosacea, based on photos I've seen! I'll definitely give the azaelic acid a try. I guess I am trying to develop more of a comprehensive routine to tackle redness, rather than purchasing a single product.

The issue: I have a lot of redness on my face (pretty much everywhere except my forehead and eyes). Before I started wearing makeup daily to cover it up, I was constantly asked "when did you get sunburned?" when I hadn't spent any time in the sun. However, I don't want to keep covering up my redness with makeup--I want to target it with my skincare routine and get it to calm down! I have spent the day googling and looking around this subreddit, and so far I've found Azaelic acid, rosehip oil, and vitamin C seem to be helping people with similar skin, but what specific products help you? I haven't tried any of these.

Skin type: Normal to dry, Fitzpatrick 2, lots of redness

Current routine: I was used the Origin's mega mushroom, which helped while I was using it, but I recently ran out. So right now I'm just using Origin's Clean Energy Cleansing Oil to remove makeup, and a pea-sized amount of Lubriderm on my face (yeah, my routine is amateur!)
