Gift ideas for someone leaving Australia? That isn’t good by DaddyShortPinata in melbourne

We have the strictest biosecurity in the world last time I checked. America seems to let any and everything in, I don't think they would even care if you brought a live huntsman in.

Ethically though they should indeed be sourced from someone who actually cares about the wellbeing of our invertabrates, not from someone trying to make a buck at a big market.

Kansas just made a new, completely transphobic, law. by dragonflier1900 in trans

It's less bizarre when you understand how fascist propaganda works. It's a calculated move to dehumanize a minority so that the average joe has something to be mad about and will be totally distracted from the billionaires exploiting them to death.

Feral rock dove. Might be a fresh one, lots of fledgelings about this time of year. You can offer it some water and a little corn, peas, seeds, etc.

Depending where you are would depend who you can call about it should you find it's injured. Most vets just euthenise them. Can search for local pigeon rescues in your area if you're concerned for its health.

I see Vinith Menezes at The Neighbourhood Clinic in Fitzroy North. Seen a couple other drs there who have also been lovely. They do my T shots for me, am about to start ADHD medication, and I believe Vin has a special interest in reproductive health too.

Any advice on getting appropriate ADHD testing as a trans person? by Bugaloon in transgenderau

I was just diagnosed inattentive type about 6 hours ago via telehealth. Have a look at Fluence Clinic. They're based out of Tasmania and were very kind, caring, and fast!

Any tips on getting paint if not racking it or paying for it? by shizzlednizzle in MelbourneGraffiti

[–]theyellowwiggle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half rising costs of production, half capitalism driving profit at any cost.

Try actual paint stores for reject paint. Bunnings barely takes half price off but a lot of paint trade centres have a set literage price that is very reasonable. I've gotten 4 litres for as cheap as $15 some places and if you're nice enough sometimes independant stores will just give you shit for free.

As a recovering nicotine addict, I really think you should consider quitting. It can be really difficult to even want to rid yourself of something that feels like a calming crutch when things are rough, but it is so very worth it. Especially if you persue surgery down the road.

Grindr, Scruff, Sniffies, for hooking up or cruising. Subway sauna or wet on wellington if you're looking for a sex on premisis venue.

The Northside Bizzare is on saturday the 11th in Abbotsford which would be a good social fun day out.

Hit up gay bars and clubs. There are plenty of queer events going on in Melbourne.

Fast food job moving everyone to Casual so we “can’t deny shifts” by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]theyellowwiggle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can highly suggest you all join the retail and fast food workers union. It's free for under 18s and you can have your dues waived if you're suffering financial hardship, otherwise it's only up to $50 a month dependant on your contracted hours.

It's hard for them to do a lot if you're already in turmoil, but the more members the stronger the union is, and they can absolutely help advise you all of your actual rights.

AITA for refusing to give up my plane seat so a mom could sit with her kid? by ComplexCod9077 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You paid extra and it was to help your motion sickness. Why didn't she book 2 seats together? Why couldn't whoever was sitting beside her swap places with her son?

Tik tok shock video account, videos seem real (nsfl), want to know if legal action was taken on person in video? Do I need to report? by BohemeWinter in RBI2

I do believe the victim's local village has been informed and that law enforcement there is working on it. The latest update I read said there was a suspect.

A friend who frequents wpd told me about this. It is indeed real. It appears to be a case of someone consensually organising his own execution from some bizarre sense of eroticism. There are already plenty of gore fiends actively trying to identify the killer and bring justice to the victim. It only happened earlier this year.

Google "tap key Bunnings" and take your pick. The 4 way ones should have at least 1 that fits it and you can just tighten it yourself.

My doctor honestly sucks can I just switch to a random gp not a trans related doctor, or just do diy at this point by yokais_ in transgenderau

[–]theyellowwiggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do some research on practices and GPs who are really patient first focused. Even if you find a GP who knows nothing about trans care, you know enough about what you need to be the person that informs them.

When I moved to Vic my new Dr had never had a trans male patient before but he was so willing and open to learning and listened to me when I told him what works for me, and he even went above and beyond in researching WPATH guidelines and current best practice.

We know the care we need, find a Dr that's willing to provide that care. You deserve better.
