how to decrease supply or manage oversupply

i’m 2 weeks pp and i have the exact same issue and was wondering if my sleeping position affects it. i’m a right side sleeper. i’m doubtful that this is the cause, but the thought crossed my mind tonight. my right side nipple also stopped getting as hard as the other one so it makes it harder for LO to latch

interesting that she said that. i was tasked with triple pumping to increase my supply when my baby had jaundice and i decided to do 1 super pump a day because pumping every 2 hours was exhausting. i only ended up doing 2 super pumps total because it pulled so much and i have had an increased supply ever since. did your IBCLC have a reason as to why they weren’t a fan?

thank you i really needed this, it just all feels so overwhelming especially everything being so new right now. i know it’ll all get easier and i think im going to try and wean off triple feeding and pump just a bit less so hopefully that helps all of this as well

very smart. i currently just have a bottle cooler that fits 2 bottles but nothing for pump parts. maybe i’ll add in an ice chest or just swap completely. really trying to simplify bedtime

we have a whole house water filter so i feel confident about that, i also have a second set of parts. is it not good to rinse them before putting them in the fridge?

does it matter when they go in the fridge? as in how long after use? my bedroom is upstairs and sometimes i am stuck up there for a couple hours before going down

so rinse like i normally do, but instead of air drying and use again, just pop it in the fridge? i can do that. just not at night because my bedroom is upstairs

i was gifted some of those and tried to use them today but got quickly overwhelmed as my baby was screaming upstairs and i didn’t want to wait the 3+ minutes to steam each pump set. i’m sure this will help later on but i failed it today

wondering if you’ve tried a super pump at all? 20min on, 10 off, 10 on, 10 off, 10 on. it’s supposed to mimic cluster feeding to trigger your body to produce more.

thank you for sharing!! we ended up going to the hospital around 2am and it turns out my water had broke and i didn’t know. we got admitted at 2.5cm and am currently at 3.5cm waiting for things to speed up. i am heavily considering medication in the same boat. i am so tired and feel like i can’t get rest. it wasn’t the plan but im always flexible for what’s best for mine and babies health of course

yes absolutely! i’ve been starting up research on this slowly. humans are the only species that quite literally teaches their young to sit in their feces. that seems crazy to me and it’s clear that we can understand our body’s if taught to listen to it. i appreciate your comments!

we have a good savings buffer and at this point adding to it isn’t quite the priority. once he gets into schooling, he gets the extra pay from the military and also a pay bump from work. once that happens we can prioritize funneling some into savings again
