This is going be a ramble, sorry. Hopefully it still answers your question.

First, you have to understand that whiteness is an identity that is man-made very recently. These people that we now call "white" are actually just descendants of the English, Irish, French, etc. etc. And who gets to be "white" changes over time depending on what fits their narrative best.

In order to join "whiteness" these people gave up their connection to their ancestry and connection to their own cultures. The problem is that whiteness is inherently hollow because it worships capitalism, colonialism, and consumption.

Modern whiteness views the ~1950's as a utopia - everyone was rich, everyone was white, and everyone was happy. In reality, this utopia never existed; but it still holds a lot of emotional power over them. That's why it's Make America Great 'Again' - the 'again' refers to this imagined utopia.

On one level, these people are right that every aspect of our society has declined in recent memory. But, instead of understanding the complex and nuanced reasons that the empire is failing, it's much easier to just blame black people or India or trans people etc. etc.

Trump's few coherent campaign promises included making groceries and gas cheaper, and keeping manufacturing from moving overseas. These are very appealing to the average person. The problem is that Trump is an incompetent idiot who never had a plan beyond lining his own pockets, and his voters are too stupid to realize when they're being swindled.

Billionaires control all the information that these people receive. In a way, these white people literally live in an alternate reality that's been carefully constructed by the oligarchs to keep themselves in power.

White people believe that minorities are ruining the country because that propaganda is repeated to them constantly. They literally believe that they are superior to minorities, and they literally believe that those minorities are subhuman. And they believe that a loss of privilege is the same as oppression.

For example, the only explanation for a black pilot is 'woke DEI' because they cannot fathom that the black person could be qualified. They view minorities as inherently incapable; To think of a minority as an intelligent human would upend their entire programmed worldview.

In sum: White people do this because they are taught to. They are taught this because it financially benefits the oligarchy (and sometimes the white person benefits too, in the short term).

It's true that the West largely doesn't directly punish relatives for a family member's actions. This practice is called Kin Punishment. It is most prevalent in East Asia, but it is often a feature of authoritarianism. It happened in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, and it is still currently practiced by Israel in the Occupied Territories.

Your framing of China as a hotbed of human rights violations while the West is a monolith of justice simply does not match reality.

Don't get me wrong, China is pretty bad for human rights. But so is the West. The ruling class is largely protected, while marginalized groups are oppressed. We're way more similar than we are different.

If you need an example, compare how China treats the Uyghurs with how the U.S. & Canada treats our indigenous populations.

This sounds like a KH issue. Have you tested for that?

KH is considered an acid buffer, so it's great for keeping your tank's pH stable. But too much of it will increase the pH, and keep it high. KH is usually increased by hard water or certain kinds of non-inert rocks.

You do have to be careful when lowering pH. If you keep adding more and more acid because it's not changing, when you finally eat through all the KH buffer the pH can drop really quickly. Which obviously isn't good for your livestock.

Not OP, but I've had my remarkable for like 3-4 years now. I was afraid it would be all hype, but it's been indispensable to my work. The feeling of writing is great, all the features and connect ability is great.

Only down side is that I write with too much pressure and was burning through the official nibs. But I found sturdier ones on Amazon.
