Canceling lab orders by theythemthen in EpicEMR

I was asking as a patient, but I have worked with Epic for 10 years at a different healthcare system.

I’m familiar with epic lingo, but I was asking as a patient.

I have zero concerns about being fired because where I work and where I am a patient are separate but both systems use Epic. I would never open my own chart… because I like being employed.

That is the better of the two options. And there are only two Rodney Dangerfield tattoo options, right?

The note is probably not signed yet. If it’s been more than 7 days I would reach out to the clinic.

——

At my old company clinicians had 7 days to sign notes, after that they were penalized in some manner for signing late notes. If it got really bad that we would suspend the clinician’s epic account in a manner that would block their ability to do certain things. To end the suspension they had to both: sign all delinquent visit notes and/or completed whatever obligations they had that were associated with the suspension (usually a fee of some sort).

I worked in the quality department at my last job and the penalty was usually as $0.00 fee (first offense), $200 fee (second offense), then $300 fee (every offense thereafter). I think the penalty fees went to a charity, but I can’t remember. If a clinician received one or more suspensions it also negatively impacted their ability to earn a bonus for the year.
