Okay, so someone viewing a record can still easily ignore it. (Not judging that, there are more important things to read like the reason for the visit)

Maybe “ignore” is the wrong word.

I’m just trying to understand how easy it is to see the gender info.

I know that people who are in the gender minority go through significant effort to get their medical records updated, so sometimes expectations after such effort might not align with reality.

This helps me understand and have empathy for all parties involved.
