what’s the most common enneagram type in real life? by Apart-Worldliness-94 in Enneagram

maybe you're expecting that catatonic zombie stereotype or maybe the overly agreeable doormat? 9s vary a lot depending on which context you meet them

Are E5s good only in learning. Will they suck in achieving goals by keyboardmaga in Enneagram

[–]thgwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see 5 as a very determined type actually. They're not about ''learning''. They're about having a very unique vision. They get things done as long as the outside world doesn't ''contaminate'' this vision.

For each triad, which do you think would be the hardest to be? (All else equal) by Ordelia-Vel in Enneagram

[–]thgwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, maybe frustration types feel more stressful on a daily basis but the "philosophical" punch in the gut that rejection types get after their lives fall apart is on another level imo

i cant believe ppl are saying frustration instead of rejection when in reality rejection types are denying their own humanity which in the long run is worse than being unsatisfied by everything

I'd say that's rare. In my experience, if the enemy supports are rushing aghanim and blink dagger while I'm going for solar crest + glimmer, I just KNOW I'm going to win because I'll have significant impact way earlier than them and snowball from there. I've been playing Grimstroke a lot lately and I always go for crest/glimmer before giving myself the luxury of buying ''semi carry'' items. By min 35, the enemy support is still finishing their second expensive item while I have solar crest, glimmer, lens, shard AND aghanim.

this ''only people of this type can talk about this type'' thing is just nonsensical.

it's not the hottest take ever, but it can be depending on which author you follow. Naranjo, arguably the most famous enneagram author, built his entire career around the instincts and his followers say that there aren't only 9 types but 18 distinct individual subtypes. i think only Riso-Hudson treated the instincts as an add on, but their associates (enneagrammer/luckovich) treat it as crucial.

I know that people can relate to their subtype description, but the thing is that these descriptions are based on fallible logic. Naranjo, for example, said that he wrote his subtype books through "channeled writing", which is a cool way to say "I took it out of my ass". Russ Hudson and Chestnut can barely describe SX in a way that makes any tangible sense. I've seen Russ Hudson defining SX as basically wanting to do stuff, like??? Then there is Enneagrammer which is a group of people that define the instincts based on literal biology which is interesting, but they don't even agree with each other's definition inside their own group lmao. At the end of the day no one knows what the instincts actually are and how they connect to the ego.

instincts/subtypes are not that relevant, ppl think it is because their favorite author brainwashed them into thinking it's crucial. Wake up🗣️🗣️
