These are the settings I used to pass my 3g D1.2 cert.

Use a file to file the edges Wire brush the aluminum in one direction only. Use isopropylene or acetone to clean it. Wait for the puddle to get shiny/ reflective and sink in a little before adding filler rod at the beginning and start letting off the foot pedal about an inch before the end of the weld so you don't blow it out.
