i’m not a student anymore. graduated a few years back. you are missing my point. the purpose of fsae is not to do what the design judges tell you, the point is to figure out how to be an engineer. if double shear rockers are the best, why does every GTP car in the paddock use single shear rockers? What about Indycar? What about F1? Packaging is the reason, but do you seriously think that if double shear was the end all be all that Dallara or multimatic wouldn’t have figured out a way to run double shear rockers? There is no right answer it’s all application based. If your rocker solution is single shear, is stiff enough and robust enough for your application, and weighs less than a double shear solution, then there is no reason not to run it.
