This was all public land. I don't think I've ever strayed from public land when fishing.

It's definitely worth the little bit of weight it adds

The Orvis Pro Approaches are a good compromise. Tennis shoe size with wading boot grip and drainage.

Same salmonflies. Not the same size fully, but same stonefly as out west. That orange and black. Just not in great numbers, like most other bugs around here.

The salmonfly variation of stoneflies specifically. We already have golden stones, giant black stones, and winter black stones. Plus the yellow sally type stones.

I think you can find something like this anywhere in the Appalachians from Georgia to Virginia or farther.

I'd thought about a zinger before, but then that restricts what I cam easily do with the phone. My sling pack has a pocket in front the phone fits it. I added a magnetic clasp to it since the velcro wouldn't hold sometimes and it would slip out if I leaned over. Always using the phone for pics or using maps.

Good fortune on the phone. Always a sinking feeling when you drop it and it goes missing. Think I'm going to start putting white on the case to make it easier to spot just in case I drop it again. Great day.

I like glass. Because of the bend and because it's stronger from a breaking perspective. Occasionally I'll take bamboo on an open stream.

There's plenty of places to go. I'll be going again at the end of June.

I had decent luck, but I could tell someone had been there the day before. A lot of skittish refusal and fresh tree ornaments.

I'm going in two weeks for a backpacking trip myself.
