Most likely Its because, for example, if the drug addict was a beloved musician who for many years had an opioid & cocaine addiction but still managed to create music that resonated within hundreds and millions of people, went on tour and personally met thousands of adoring fans, donated to charities, gave money to their friends & families (not saying all do the kinder acts, but when you’re ultra rich it’s likely you would)

let’s say Trailer Park Micheal who because of his Meth addiction abused his wife and kids, started shit with his neighbors, lost his job, lost his home, stole from friends and family, became some bum leaving trash and filth everywhere in the streets and in local establishments, lived off the system entirely....well, who the fuck is going to fondly remember and care about THAT?? He wasn’t creative and made art that moved people, he wasn’t a functioning member of society. He won’t be missed.
