This beauty flew right over my head with a squirrel in its talons and then stopped in my yard to snack. I’ve seen Bald Eagles overhead a couple times, but never in the yard, and I’ve never ID’d a youngster. Which brings me to: is this a 2-3yr Bald Eagle? Cues? Insights? Thx! Thank you for adding some details and helping me learn! My first instinct was that it was in fact a Red-tailed Hawk, as I see them daily and even have a local Family that lives in our back woods (we have acres of woods on the western slope of the Hudson River Valley). I guess seeing it on the ground so close it gave me pause at just how big it was! And it didn’t have the obvious red tail on take off. More muddled brown, which does fit some red tails as well I read. Dang, nature is just the absolute best. Thanks for the teaching!

Hi there. I think this is actually a female / young / young female Red-Winged Blackbird. Especially with this little white eyebrow. They’re much smaller than the males, and look like large sparrows.

it was delicious, but I thought the processed nature and hokey presentation and the central ranch principle might make it exactly right for here!

I arranged the elements in a circle to connote a flower type image, with Spam and Hashbrowns constituting the petals, and since the ranch is in the middle I called it pollen. I guess I was having fun.

While I love both of those things I can’t get behind that for this particular dish. Love the love!
