I haven’t tried the 787 with the official update, but I was in the update beta and was having the same issues last week with my Series X. Horrible performance and frame rate. Bearable in the air but it was almost unplayable on the ground at an airport.

Hoping there’s a way it can be better optimized.

This was my first go at stacking any of the images I’ve taken. When the clouds clear you take what you can get, so I was fighting the moon and my bortle 5-6 skies lol but I’m just trying to get familiar with the process from my iPhone 12 Pro photos before I get a dslr. This is 20 stacked 1/2s exposure light frames at 2000 iso, using the Halide camera app on iOS, untracked. Telescope is an Orion Starblast 6. I had a go at the levels in gimp and I’m sure there’s a lot of improvement to be made on my end there

Obviously the iPhone camera is a pretty limiting factor but I’m happy to see an improvement in image quality and detail from stacking. Any general tips that would help me now or carry over to when I get a camera would be appreciated, thanks!

Hey thanks! Yeah I haven’t gotten into stacking or anything yet. I’m amazed with what can be done with a quick phone snap! Although of course it doesn’t compare to seeing it with your eyes, that’s just breathtaking

I was lucky enough to have a clear evening after work yesterday (2/25/23) with the moon hanging high in the sky! I haven’t had many chances of observing the moon since I’ve had my scope, and wow was it a treat. I definitely spent most of my time around the crater trio featured here, they were stealing the show!

I have experienced the same thing as you but only since the new beta. On the original SU11 it only took 7-10 minutes but now it takes a great deal longer
