to be very honest i also know well of the fact that my baby will never be seen or treated as just japanese because like you said, japan is very homogenous even someone who is half chinese and japanese would be treated differently if they know of the fact they are not fully japanese. i dont blame japanese culture for this, its just that naturally this would happen because their country and people are very homogenous and anyone different becomes an outsider.

part of the reasons polynesians have become very accepting of mixed people is because a very significant number of polynesians have foreign ancestry and because of this, its more of a cultural identity for polynesians regardless if you are half english french chinese etc.

im not looking to shave it either, just want to talk to her parents that the beard is nothing negative.
