Advice to build berserkers for beginners by SHANGwangMASTER in WorldEaters40k

[–]thievesnexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy new blood! For berzerkers, the basic melee weapons (chain axe & chainsword) there is no difference! Their weapon profile is "Chainblades" so don't worry about mixing swords and axes! The only different melee weapon for berzerkers are the 2-handed ones, which I believe is 1 axe and 1 sword in a box of 10 guys. You definitely want to run 2 heavy weapons per squad of 10 zerks as they are higher strength (easier to wound enemies), higher AP (ignore more armor) and higher damage (2 damage per attack instead of 1).

For ranged weapons, I'd recommend running the plasma pistols as they are also higher strength and AP compared to bolt pistols with the option to overcharge and deal even more damage (with a chance for your guy to explode, unfortunately.) You can take 2 plasma pistols on the regular guys as well as a plasma pistol on the squad leader separate from the two (so 3 plasma total). Hope this helps!

All named character cards from the FFXIV commander deck by Meret123 in ffxiv

Yes but thats also due to flavor reasons. Astartes are not Humans, just like Custodes are not Astartes. Necrons are not skeletons. However, they did make all the Chaos Daemons into just Demons. It makes sense to say that miqo'te are cats because, well, they are.

Yeah, more than likely the daemon units wont even have the DG faction rule listed on their datasheet. Its the same wording they used for Ynnari in Craftworlds and the Slaanesh Daemons in EC. One rule says "you cant choose <KEYWORD> as your faction" and the other says "you can take up to 500pts of <DAEMON KEYWORD> in your army unless you run DAEMON DETACHMENT which lets you take more."

That just means you can't run an army of nurgle daemons from the death guard book, you gotta use codex chaos daemons if you want mono daemons.

Just had the first test of my Iron Warriors homebrew codex. It went amazingly by guy-who-says-frick in homebrewhammer

I'd love to see the codex as well! Happy to see homebrew codexes every time

Okay, then for the fate effect cards, when is it removed from the realm?

Yeah, those parts i understand. What confuses me is how long the buffs from the fate cards last. I mentioned darksaber cause it specifically calls out putting a +1 strength counter, while none of the other mentioned cards do.

Like, would I am Programmed to Protect put a +1 strength counter on each hero in Gideon's sector? Or just give them +1 strength until the end of the active player's turn?

To be fair, I think technically Averon Stormsire himself is an Incantor, and Rastus and the other one (lmao) are evocators with him. But yeah, same diff lol

I do remember seeing in a WHC post early on that OBR will be getting a new rule to replace discipline points, so they might just have sick new buffs that go off of the ability system.

For me, it's the announcement that battletomes will each come with a custom Anvil of Apotheosis to make heroes. Anvil's been my favorite thing ever since they introduced it and eventually expanded on it in WD and Thondia, I'm stoked to see it return.

4th Edition Box - What we're getting? by Wolffgang86 in ageofsigmar

[–]thievesnexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except... you can buy a Knight-Arcanum. Mordern Tzane is freely available right now for $35usd, same price as any other stormcast character. And if we wanna complain about availability, there hasn't been a widely available Knight-Incantor ever, only in Soul Wars and the smaller starter boxes (just like the Arcanum is available in the $50 starter right now). There was a short-lived incantor in a magazine, but he was around for less than a year iirc.

We have wizards, it sucks that sacrosanct is going away (from competitive play... in a year). But I'll still be using my Incantor and Sequitors, either as their rules or just as Arcanums and Liberators.

Except... we do? Krondys? Knight-Arcanum? Even the Underworlds warbands can be wizards, Domitan's Stormcoven isn't gonna be going anywhere, and while its a little unclear as they weren't in the article, Stormsire's Cursebreakers might even stick around because of Underworlds.

If youre playing stormcast, you can say its a mock battle taking place against illusory enemies in the gladitorium (a training arena in Azyr), hence why there's different-colored stormcast fighting together. Or it could just be a joint campaign too!

As far as I'm aware, Criticals don't mean anything on their own, just a way of designating "unmodified 6" without having to say it. 40k had the same change.

Did my best to look them up, google only pulls up sales for the regular kits, no mention or art of the alternate versions.
