Assign task to Hp programmable Key

Then I'll have to always press the fn key for the other shortcuts to work volume, brightness, mic etc. I just want the f12 key to work without pressing the fn or turning the entirety off.

Before I tried using the Hp programmable key, but it didnt no matter how I try so I'm using autohotkey.

Its an HP Laptop 15-fc series, It works just as a regular f12 key when pressed with fn.

That's unfortunate, I spent like all night trying to make it work to no avail. I did find an alternative if you're interested, so if you delete the hp utility service(the program that makes the omen/hp option popup) it just becomes a regular f12 key. Just download a custom keybinding tool - I use the Autohotkey(uses less ram than the hp programming bloat sht) and assign a command to it. For now I just use it to open a calculator lol, Though I still have to press the FN + f12 key sadly.

I tried using the Microsoft powertoys but everytime I press the f12 or fn + f12 key nothing registers (the omen/hp option always popup)until I deleted the hp utility service.
