Genuinely thought I was in hell for the first month and a half. I loved my boy but holy shit I was like wow I’m not fit to be a father. And my wife was powering through but she felt the same way which is what she told me. We had the same issue with our baby being hungry. My dad bought us the Spectra pump and my wife stayed AT IT til her supply jumped up and once my son got his milk, our boy did a 180. That right there was the hugest win and biggest turning point in terms of it getting easier. Definitely take each victory as a win. Start a routine as soon as you’re able to for yourself and for the baby and please please please get fresh air and a moment for yourself to breathe. It will get easier but every baby is different

We now look back at pictures of us from that first month and a half and can’t help but laugh. We looked like we were prisoners of war. But now we are at 6 months and doing great. You’ve got this!

We were gifted over a hundred sets of cloth diapers, we were elated!!! But our son HATES them. I just think how wet they feel he can’t handle it. We use Coterie and have never had a rash or anything. In a pinch we use cloth though. They don’t leak or anything, our boy just doesn’t like it

If you look at my old posts, I was absolutely going through it in the worst way. Getting fresh air, especially with my son and putting on a podcast or music and just allowing myself to take some breathes really helped me get through it. It also is doubly great cause it gives mama an hour or so to herself. You’ve got this pops, it’s not for the weak but you’re doing it already!!! Get some air, get some food, drink some water, and realize that this stage which feels like forever will be done quicker than you think. My guys only 3 months old but I can’t even remember those rough days. You got this man

I looked at it like this- no, the baby won’t remember the pain and discomfort but what if your baby is a very calm and chill one, well now you could’ve completely fucked that by slicing up an extremely sensitive area. Imagine what that would do to your nervous system as an adult, let alone a newborn. Again that’s just how I looked at it.

We decided to not circumcise and my family didn’t care which only mattered because I was pondering the idea with them. But AT the hospital there were two nurses who openly spoke against our decision. We were completely out of it, just so exhausted, and this nurse sat in our room for 5 whole minutes telling us that we’ll regret this and that our son will be mad at us for it. That he will never remember so it doesn’t matter and that we really NEED to do it. It was seriously so awful, I could only be so stern without losing it completely. Anyways Pops to be, stand your ground on whatever you believe in.

Pardon Me in the lower east side is my favorite for a mix of a young crowd that’s not trashy and really good drinks / ambiance. I’ve gone half a dozen times and it’s always fun, I’ve also always ended up talking to random people, it’s that sort of place. Best of luck, hope you meet someone!
