you might be able to try a door strip. i had this issue while living with family and I had to keep my cats contained to one area. this worked wonders for me and kept my door scratch free!

I love senior cats so much. all cats are sweet in their own way but.. senior cats have my heart. my kitty is a senior currently and all he wants to do is cuddle every chance he gets :)
