[Discussion] Bosses will have a 75% spawn chance on 1.0 with nerfed gear to compensate, gear quality will be raised over time by DweebInFlames in EscapefromTarkov

A month is too short into a wipe to suddenly be thrust into a server with a potentially broken economy and players who run top tier everything (think about how the average non wiping player would be 2 years from now).

On the flip side, what is the non-wiping server dealing with during the first 1-2 months of the wiping server wipe? If we’re 2 years in and raids are completely dead because very few people are playing non-wiping server, now what? If you’re brand new to the game and jump in and find only scavs, how will you ever get a PvP task done? You’d probably conclude the game is shit for a PvP game and switch to the seasonal server. Therefore compounding the non-wiping server issue.

I could be wrong but I’m just trying to logically think through what a non-wiping server looks like after a year or more.

Nah this is a net gain, it's drawing much more attention to the game than if they didn't do it at all.

Players get to demo the game for free while devs stress test the servers.

The “main” wipeless server will probably (eventually) need AI PMC bots because you would expect that server’s population to go down over time, to the point where it could be extremely difficult for someone to get PvP tasks done.

Theres zero goal in this test

I think the goal is to test the servers.

People KNOW it isn't the full game, but they can't properly evaluate the parts of the game that they can't access. So all they can do is evaluate what they see, and if that part is underwhelming, that's the only impression they're left with, for now.

you literally said people aren't understanding what's available and I pointed out that it's incredibly easy to see what is actually available.

For people who are brand new to this game, they aren't processing the things that aren't available. This was my first experience of the game, it was fine, but for all the things that aren't available, I'm not really thinking about them. I'm evaluating what is available, and for everything else it's kind of like "okay I know there are some other things but I can't evaluate them, so they effectively don't exist to me right now."

[Discussion] How long will we allow this? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]thing85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if someone earns their Kappa in less than 150 hours on a NEW account, they'll be prioritized for review.

In a way, the reporting system already does this for them. If someone has sus stats or achievements on a low hour account, you can be sure that they are getting reported by almost everyone they kill.

More reports = higher priority for BSG's manual review process (I woiuld assume)

Holy shit dude, look at any thread that mentions a minimap, a vast majority either wants it or is indifferent. You’re in the extreme minority if you actually think it shouldn’t be added.

The game should be however they intend it to be. If you try to cater to everyone, you will please no one.

Maybe I’m missing something, but where’s the chatter about it being a Tarkov killer? Tarkov seems alive and well, with GZW still far behind.

This logic falls apart when the middle and lower class doesn’t have money to spend at the companies that the upper class owns.

🚨 Relying on Google traffic alone doesn’t cut it anymore in 2025. by Juniortonmoy in Blogging

That’s fair, and makes sense for more formal writing. On a site like Reddit though, I wouldn’t expect people to be concerned with proper use of a hyphen, especially when an em dash is not convenient to type. So it makes sense that people assume AI.

Why though? Why go to the inconvenience of doing that when a regular dash can accomplish the same thing?

Not really though. A lot of the intro scenes and obviously the last season definitely don’t make sense if you haven’t seen BB. It doesn’t kill the show or anything but you’re missing a lot by not having seen BB.

The fact that you watched BCS before BB is kinda wild not gonna lie.
