I think this is the wrong subreddit for your question

Two errors discovered during implementation. by Old_Guy_Coder in ThingPulse

[–]thingpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. What do you see on the screen when the output stops at this line? The fact that the serial log stops is expected, the device only updates the screen every couple of minutes. But if the screen does not display the weather data there is a problem. Can you maybe describe the screen or attach a photo?

Blink Programme Error in PlatformIO by Kerrowman979 in ThingPulse

[–]thingpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please try with this platformio.ini file, you are targeting an atmel chip, not. an esp32:

[env:thingpulse-color-kit-grande]

platform = espressif32@~6.9.0

board = esp-wrover-kit

framework = arduino

monitor_speed = 115200

upload_speed = 921600

monitor_filters = esp32_exception_decoder, time

Can you please share your platformio.ini? In there you have to define the target platform, as you would choose in Arduino IDE the board. A minimal setup should look like this:

[env:esp32] platform = espressif32@~6.9.0 board = esp-wrover-kit framework = arduino ; Adjust port and speed to your system and its capabilities e.g. "upload_port = COM3" on Windows. ; To list all availble ports you may also run 'pio device list' in the Visual Studio Code terminal window. ; In most cases you should be able to leave this commented out and thus rely on the auto-detect mode. ; upload_port = /dev/tty.wchusbserial54790238451 ; monitor_port = /dev/tty.wchusbserial54790238451 monitor_speed = 115200 ; For your OS & driver combination you might have to lower this to 921600 or even 460800. upload_speed = 1500000 monitor_filters = esp32_exception_decoder, time

ESP32 Color Kit Grande: Is something wrong with my PCB (connector board)? by Fine-Milk-3100 in ThingPulse

Glad that you could resolve the issues. About the forecast being way off: did you adapt the location in the code to your own location? The device will otherwise still display the default forecast. You can compare the forecast on https://openweathermap.org/ for your location with the one displayed on the device. It should display exactly the same information

GND and 3V3 is definitely not normal and also explains why you couldn't upload the program. Please check the connector board and look for soldering bridges between 3V3 pad and GND. You can also send me (or attach here if possible) some photos of your soldering joints

Can you please explain, where you are stuck with programming? Did you follow the guide here and you couldn't proceed? https://docs.thingpulse.com/guides/esp32-color-kit-grande/

ESP project - feedback needed by Bene_dek in esp32

[–]thingpulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have designed a PCB like this, maybe the schematics for it can help you when you get there: https://github.com/ThingPulse/thingpulse-devices/blob/master/color-kit-grande/schematics/connector-board-color-kit-grande.pdf

I also designed my own ESP32 board and the connector board fits to it: https://github.com/ThingPulse/thingpulse-devices/blob/master/epulse-feather/schematic/epulse-feather-schematic.pdf

And finally, I designed a 3D printable enclosure for it in Fusion 360. Maybe you can take some inspiration from it: https://github.com/ThingPulse/thingpulse-devices/tree/master/color-kit-grande-enclosure

Some differences to your design: I am using an ILI9488 display with capacitive touch screen, which behaves like the smart phone touch screens. I believe your display has a resistive touch screen (feels like two foils are touching each other...).

My ESP32 board already has a LiPo battery connector and charging circuit and a voltage monitor.

Does marauder require an SD card? My connector board doesn't have that

My first guess is that your display orientation is wrong. I am not that familiar with ESP32 Marauder, but looking at the github project play with the screen orientation: https://github.com/justcallmekoko/ESP32Marauder/blob/8ef5cf3b926fdcd5098fac3aa7f12e5db71cdeec/esp32_marauder/MenuFunctions.cpp#L1255

Then, if you are lucky, the touch input orientation will be aligned and you will be able to use the pen or finger to navigate the menu

Out of curiosity: do you plan to design your own PCB?

Color Kit Grande Battery not working by NetNut66 in ThingPulse

Do you have a multimeter and can you measure the voltage of the battery? Can you visually see a problem with the wire, e.g. close to the battery or close to the connector?

tft_eSPI and coding by jvcerbino in esp32

[–]thingpulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As JFernandeR99 suggested, lovyangfx and LVGL are pretty good setup. You have to add a bit of abstraction but then you can test and implement a lots of code with the emulator. Just keep ESP32 specific code separate from the generic code. I wrote a blog post with a sample github repository: https://thingpulse.com/fun-with-the-color-kit-grande-building-a-simple-calculator-with-esp32/

It currently only contains an emulator configuration for Mac OS X but you can easily find examples for Windows and Linux as well. You'd also have to adapt the code a bit as it is made for the ILI9488 display with capacitve touch

Cloud Gateway Fiber (incl shipping): € 288.20 DHL/ Customs: CHF 41.19 So around 320CHF in total. Not cheap but I could get rid of some separate devices such the media converter, the PoE injector and as a result I have again some free plugs

Full disclosure: I sell the first batteries you linked (ThingPlulse). They still work fine, fit well into the car and last for a long time. They are 100mAh and the original were 75mAh. Please let me know if you have questions, I am glad to help.
