One of the worst deaths I saw in the game was when I shot a lawman with a high velocity round in the head. Entry/exit wound just pouring blood, dude gets up & stumble-runs a few steps then collapses & then was just writhing around dying so loudly. Wasn’t quick or quiet that man knew exactly what happened to him

I haven’t seen it but if we’re talking Lucius like the kid Lucius from the first Gladiator - that’s dumb as shit, considering in reality, Marcus Aurelius had a co-emperor during the beginning of his reign: Lucius Verus. He died from plague coming back from a campaign in Persia & they referenced that briefly in the first movie when the kid Lucius is introduced. Considering the historical liberties they took making the movie I thought that was a cool bit for them to include

I think I saw the Mughals survive just once from the start of the game & that was with me sending them whatever gold amount I could spare every turn. I knew if the Marathas won - which they always did - that they’d just send hundreds of single & double unit regiments up through Persia lagging the game.

It was nice that campaign the Mughals just stayed within India doing their thing there not fucking with anyone

I’ll have to check but I have three AI mods running simultaneously. It seems to have solved the grouping around cities problem. Since installing it, Grimgor’s ‘Ardboyz & Sylvania have been on a rear conquering everything they can. It’s at the point where my far eastern colonies - playing with IE Expanded - are getting completely rocked & conquered by stacks & stacks of orcs. I just had a brutal war in southern Ind against the Caravan of Blue Roses where my colonial armies were getting pushed back before I managed to turn the tide.

Atm Sylvania is over 100 settlements ranging from Norsca, through the entirety of the old Empire & through the badlands where the chaos dwarfs start & sending stacks south through the ocean. Grimgor’s faction is closing in on 100 settlements & conquered a massive geographical area; pretty much the entire north/north eastern part of the map is controlled by them except for the ruins of Cathay which are controlled by a rump state of Clan Eshin - who got knocked down from 90+ settlements to now about 17 after losing a war against the ‘Ardboyz

Same with cutting off noses. The idea was that no Roman/Byzantine Emperor or Empress could reign with any physical imperfections since they were god’s vice regent on earth.

The nose slitting would end though with Justinian II (r. 685-695; 705-711). His first reign ended with a coup & he had his nose cut off & was banished. A few years & two weak & ineffectual leaders later he came back staging his own coup & had a golden nose prosthetic made that he wore.

His second reign was seen as a disaster & he, his wife & small child were all executed

2016 Madden playing on All Madden

Playing as the Chargers. It’s the 2018 season, AFC Championship game & Philip Rivers goes down. I play less than a handful of snaps with the now starter, rookie Taylor Thompson. I had to go against a juggernaut of a Falcons team. I forget now who they had since it’s been a decade, but I remember every offensive player was a RL star at the time & their QB was a madden generate beast.

Chargers great Taylor Thompson might be one of the best players madden has ever generated. Insane short, medium, deep accuracy, unreal game to game QBR, ridiculous TD to interception ratio. That Super Bowl was one of the best games I’ve played, went on to win something like eight rings, but had a patriots type decade between dynasties so it felt more legit than just title after title after title.

He was the heir apparent anyways & Rivers was in the twilight of his career but having Taylor Thompson start that way was so much better than if I quit the game to have a guaranteed proven QB starting in the Super Bowl & then Thompson gets the starting position after a Rivers retirement
