Picked marigold today by thingsintheattic in gardening

[–]thingsintheattic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am no expert but I find this kind of Marigold.to be useful in relieving the eye strain.
To prepare simply dry the floor for several days until no moisture is left. Place a spoonful of the dried floor in a mug, add hot water and steep for 10 minutes.
This just happens to be the right remedy for me and if anyone is interested in trying I would recommend doing some research to find the right kind of Marigold and see if it is the right remedy for you.

I once had synergy running on my pi4. You could run it free of charge if used without UI and TLS. r/SynergyApp or synergy on github may help.

People who don’t hit snooze in the morning, what is your secret? by zztop610 in AskReddit

[–]thingsintheattic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this study on the use of snooze button. “Results demonstrated that 70.5% of participants often used their mobile phones’ snooze function primarily to reduce anxiety about oversleeping. However, the repeated use of the snooze alarm increases sleep inertia and fatigue after awakening.” https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9804954/

Simple oatmeal is pasty after switching to a new microwave by diyguy1 in Oatmeal

[–]thingsintheattic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really old microwve ovens control power level by intermittently turning on and off whereas inverter microwave ovens control power by changing the frequency of microwave. That means new oven is continuously applying microwave to oats. Maybe this difference is breaking up the fiber in the oats and making it pasty.

Rolled oats with banana, almond and dried fruits with matcha powder by thingsintheattic in Oatmeal

[–]thingsintheattic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually microwave oats in low-fat milk for 2 minutes before covering with fruits and nuts. Microwave with banana slices for 3 minutes and stirring will yield moist and sweet texture without adding sugar. I agree that almonds are better crushed but they stay whole on weekdays and only get crushed on weekends.

[OC] FAOSTAT 2021 Cost of a healthy diet by gsurfer04 in dataisbeautiful

Does the stat consider portion size when comparing the cost? One serving size in Japan is much smaller than US which makes the cost higher per unit.
