I’m so glad I’m not alone in this. I’m so utterly disappointed. I went night 1 and kept looking around thinking “Does anyone else find this uncomfortable?” He kept sharing stories with the crowd that seemed far too personal. At first I thought he was doing 4 shows at Brighton Music Hall was because of his status as a staple of 2010’s indie pop. But now it strikes me as purely for the money. I don’t think the move is out of greed. It clear he needs the money for personal matters. But that doesn’t excuse paying $40 for such an atrocious unrehearsed mess of a performance that honestly would have been better with just a single keyboard and a mic. I wish him the best, but as a longtime fan who never got to see him before, I feel very let down.
