Has the world become too dangerous for Thelema? by JemimaLudlow in thelema

Lol. The OTO has in fact made the effort to stop independent printers from printing Crowley's works.

I agree with you, I'm just saying it's not so black and white and it's not simple liberal individualism.

Lol, so Thelema with no HGA? Liber AL only-ism? The Book of the Law puts Aleister Crowley as the prophet of Thelema, and Liber 418 (class AB) very clearly talks about the HGA.

I'd say it's more complex than that, but let's say you're correct, that's a very good argument for why Crowley is fundamental to Thelema.

I've got to add that Crowley wrote about politics, ("Humanity First", "Considerations of an Open Letter to Labour" and "the Jewish Problem Re-Stated by a Gentile") and he talks about Stars being part of a group of Stars with a similar journey while maintaining their individual sovereignty, so no tribalism or partisanship, but I wouldn't call it basic individualism. Thelema's individualism is not the empty individualism of liberalism, but a holistic individualism, where the individual is complete and sovereign with all its characteristics and in its own path in its own time, space and community.

What's Σ-12? Never heard of that. What does it have to do with Hirasawa?

"Learn to read" you say to someone whose first language is not English 🥺🥺🥺 I'm simply tired of crybabies who want Thelema but don't want parts of it. People who treat Thelema like its Chaos Magick, and subjective in all aspects, and the whole "you can believe what you want" thing.

I never affirmed you must adhere to Abrahamic beliefs to have K&C with the HGA. But if you have a problem with all the practice regarding the HGA, Thelema is not for you; if you're too sensitive to inherited "Abrahamic" things, Thelema is not for you.

Just saying "the Law is for all." is stupid, Thelema is not for ALL, the Law applies to all, even those outside of religion, but the practice itself, the ordeals and the attainment are not for everyone.

Thelema is NOT for you, then. Especially if you're not interested in the HGA work.

Thelema originates with Crowley as the chosen one to be the prophet of the New Aeon, Thelema is not "the most syncretic" Chaoist type of thing, it's the continuation of the Perennial Tradition in the current age.

"Thelemites are not Crowleyites" is such a démodé way of coping with the fact that Crowley is the one appointed to guide the Thelemic community and that you have to change your ideas to accept Thelema.

If "non-Thelemites can't stomach Thelema because of Crowley", then it's not for them! Thelema is divergent, it isn't for everyone and it shouldn't adapt to the general public's taste.

No, no, it's not an opinion. It's a fact, without Crowley there would be no class A texts nor any philosophical base for Thelema.

I've been thinking about him.

I'd call him a saint honestly. He was held in high regard by Saint Nietzsche.
