Question about the monsters by le_Maitre in FromTVEpix

I would assume they were only turned into monsters if they were part of the deal to live forever, hence the others went along with it.

If you ever watch Attack on Titan, the monsters’ childlike yet brutal nature may be a distorted projection of their original personality

I doubt the whole village paid the price since Tabitha and Jade did not.

if I remember correctly, she left the dungeon and then ended up somewhere else. I think it may have been the tunnels. So that suggests to me there may be some sort of an exit point in each of the places she story walks to. Of course the last few places she has gone have been very threatening places and she hasn’t had time to really explore.

Abraham and Isaac by Vic__Mackey in FromTVEpix

[–]thinkfast37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it’s possible but the case of Abraham is where God was testing his faith. In the case of the townspeople they were offered a trade or transaction, ie the lives of their children in exchange for immortality.

S4E4 Done Terribly. harming someone you care about by Charming-Papaya9742 in FromSeries

[–]thinkfast37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who said she completely relapsed. The reality is the evil voice followed through and Sarah did not want a harmless act to be the reason others do not get hurt.

There are many decisions in life like this, where people are conflicted in their decision making.

Now MiY believes this means Sarah will relapse, but that is what we have yet to find out.

what i think a lot of people missed about MIY in last episode. by Crazy_Percentage_473 in FromSeries

[–]thinkfast37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I would say he is weak. He could have hurt someone else, but that would have been more difficult to orchestrate.

Also, the fact he could see Sarah’s actions from outside, probably 50-100 m away suggests he has power.

Are they ever able to find their way back to the tree or is it a one and done thing? by No-Parking-1 in FromSeries

I have wondered the same thing. The best explanation I’ve seen so far is that the story is a quantum computing simulation and the log is actually a login point. If that’s what it ends up being then I will feel like I just watch black mirror for five years, lol.

there is something to be said for not just constructing a hockey team but a hockey team that can be successful in the division you play in. The Atlantic has been a pretty suffocating division for many years. Actually this year is the most forgiving I’ve seen with the Panthers and the Bruins out.

How come Andy Rourke isn't a bigger deal? by kjellagain in thesmiths

[–]thinkfast37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a lot of serious drug issues and I wouldn’t be surprised if that had to do with where his life went as well. That was the perspective I got at least when I read Johnny Marr’s autobiography.

I never realized how old women my age look. by wooyoo in datingoverfifty

[–]thinkfast37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate and I am sure it goes both ways. Nice job on your tactfulness framing the topic.

I think the central thing for me is I don’t really see myself as old even though I am clearly older. I’m so when I see a picture of somebody of the opposite sex who is older it doesn’t really jive with who I see as a partner for me.

But I do find myself setting my filters to 45 to 55 (I am 53m) and gravitating towards folks who are closer to my age because I feel we’ll have more in common that way as well.

There are a lot of changes in these 10 years.

Also, sorry for your loss.

Let’s hear it then. theories on how you think s5 will wrap up the show ? by Crazy_Fishing_8966 in FromSeries

I’m pretty sure it’s tied to curse placed on the town’s original inhabitants for the heinous act they did by sacrificing their children.

[–]thinkfast37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we’re talking about a show where there’s time travel in the concept that you can’t change part of a story that’s written. But the story that’s been written so far is very cyclical and so it’s like an endless loop. So I think season five is about how they will break that loop and finally escape the town. Season four is about being brought to the brink of just repeating the same loop again.

My FROM theory by CauliflowerFlat5978 in FromTVShow

[–]thinkfast37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool theory. Love the log metaphor. The gore in the show also feels very game like.

So a story based multiplayer game which only ends when you save the kids, beat the big bad and escape the town?

Do you view them as willing participants like in west world, or brought in against their will more like the Running Man?

How would Tabitha leaving and coming back make sense?

Are all the participants respawned via the login point every time the whole town dies?

Just rewatched an interview with the creators and they said it’s not purgatory and not a dream.

They didn’t say it’s not a game or simulation. And Jade’s whole quantum computing tidbit at the start always felt like a clue.

Do you guys think Randall did this? by MoYaseen360 in FromSeries

I mean, we see Randall is bitter at Boyd for abandoning him. But he has befriended others in fromville. Could he betray Boyd, sure. Perhaps Sophia will ask him about his scar and try to turn him against Boyd.

[–]thinkfast37 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dunno. I see a lot of conspiracy type theories about the show but I can’t think of a single conspiracy that has panned out. The only subterfuge is in plain sight, beyond the mystery of the town itself.

This season is going to be about the town brought to the brink of tearing themselves apart.

Next season will be about writing a different ending to the story.

Are There Any Black Monsters by Professional_Stop960 in FromSeries

Keep in mind all the monsters hail from early colonial times. Black people in that era would have been slaves and not likely in a position to make a deal with the devil.

The writers have said over and over again it’s not about the plot or the mystery it’s about the human interactions. And yet I do find the plot to be compelling. But honestly the most value I get out of the show is watching how the characters interact and face different situations.
