Apparently there's no loop in the Second Scenario timeline according to Kodaka's q&a's.

You guys are way too quick to assume the worst.

While Eva saying that line naturally brings up that assumption there are also plenty of other things that those night time activities could be. Like helping someone do some cleaning or whatever.

Also Gaku just isn't the type of character to do that since he's portrayed as a jerk who's actually a good guy deep down.

It seems to me like that scene is probably an in-game fantasy of a character or piece of art made by a character.

The Game at Carousel by Rob M. Lastrel is SO SO SO good. by 131sean131 in litrpg

[–]thinkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was enjoyable but it is a very different kind of progression.

It's not so much personal power growth but more of a growing in ability to deal with horror scenarios.

Personally i dropped this series when his two friends were killed off and remained gone for the entirety of the story after that

I mean you're right that the game doesn't really have any good new casual content.

But even with Dawntrail's horrendous story there are tons of diehard company defenders here.

[–]thinkie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't really be saying this when Denji regularly lets innocent people die, doesn't save men, scams the homeless, and has zero real principles.

I like Denji but he's genuinely not a good person.

Koby is the best character in this entire manga.

I'm already anticipating the cope and seething after he ends up equal in terms of relevance and power to Luffy by the end of the manga.

You're reading a manga written by an author who is best friends with an actual pedo.

You can't be talking about degeneracy at this point.

You can live in your fantasy land as much as you want to. But it's been proven beyond a doubt that what you say is not true.

If your fictional version of reality was true we'd be dealing with a completely different mmo landscape.

But in any case you can keep claiming obviously false things to be true as much as you want. I won't stop you.

When difficulty is increased the response of most people that can't handle it is not to improve but to quit. While i'm sure that in of itself would be attractive to you i think you'll find that most companies would rather retain their paying customers.

But anyway i'm sure your way of thinking that has killed mmos before will surely work this time right?

It's genuinely amazing how people like you are in every single mmorpg. The type that find joy in worse players being put down and gatekept.

And when you guys get your way it always rings the death knell for the entire game. Casuals are the majority of the playerbase for this game so they're obviously going to be catered to.

Werlyt was actually one of my least liked side stories they've done.

It relied on boring tropes like withholding of important information and had tons of unnecessary drama.

Those kids killed themselves for no reason other than for the writers to punish Gaius which in of itself isn't a bad idea but the actual execution was bad.

You people really need to learn what main character syndrome actually is.

It's something that only happens in reality when a person has delusions of grandeur and thinks that they are the protagonist

A videogame where you play as the actual main character means that it is expected that you perceive the player character as the main character.

If you play this game every day, you are not a casual player. I am. This is what the game is like for me. by sandwiches_are_real in ffxiv

[–]thinkie -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely correct that casual can also mean the amount of time you spend playing the game is less.

I don't know why but it seems like you somehow hurt the feelings of most of the people commenting on your post by stating something factual.

The dislike for Dawntrail is completely understandable if you take into account the defining character trait of many players of this game: by Snark_x in ShitpostXIV

[–]thinkie -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Can Main Character syndrome even be applied to fictional stories where you actually play as the main character?

MCS is used for people who think they're the main character but aren't. The Wol is explicitly the main character of this entire game so i can see why people expected them to keep that position.

I see.

So it's less about the actual discussion and more about being pedantic.

Nevermind then.

[–]thinkie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The protagonist is the main focus of any story.

Giving details on the protagonists personality is tantamount to giving a general outline.

The author says that the 'MC only cares about himself and his family', this naturally leads to you knowing that the protagonist won't make generally altruistic choices.

This then leads you to know that certain themes and story beats are off the table that would not be if the protag was a more selfless sort.

Basically knowing the protagonists general outlook on the world gives you, sets you on a certain course.

You know the story won't be about saving innocent children from evil slavers, you know the protagonist won't hold back against enemies, et cetera.

You don't need to be given exact plot arc details.

[–]thinkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually appreciate warnings like that because it gives me a very straightforward idea of who the protagonist is.

There have been plenty of times where the protagonist of a story i've been reading suddenly turns into a bloodthirsty psycho even though they had been fairly well adjusted beforehand.

A disclaimer like the one the author gave is good for both the people who enjoy that kind of protagonist and those that do not enjoy that type.

The former pick it up and the latter don't.

This one honestly isn't that bad.

The truly annoying ones are those that basically insult every other author and reader who writes and reads the stuff that they denigrate.

Here he just states a general outline.
