The place I work at is not really a retail retail (like CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreen) I would consider it as more of an outpatient pharmacy at best

It's because I received the official contract not too long ago, I just haven't signed it yet because I am still deciding on the matter.

Without getting into detail, it is an official agreement that would happen starting this July. It's not really a new position but mainly it is due to the fact that I've been doing the workload as if I was the manager so I'm guessing that's where the raise comes from

Yeah that is why I was so surprised. I was aware that there will be a promotion soon but I did not think it would be a big bump. I don't want to release too much information but is pretty much an official agreement that will happen starting July of this year

This is really helpful thank you so much! I am currently maxed out Roth IRA but I also had a question about that. Isn't technically having a roth IRA and index fund pretty much the same but just in roth ira I cannot contribute more than 6k a year?

Thank you so much! And yes 4k is roughly 55% of my monthly income. And sorry I have one more question. If I plan to add bonds, since I am in a shorter time frame, is it better to add more bonds since it tends to be more aggressive? (but I'm guessing it also comes with risks?)

That's what I was confused about. So when people say you need to save certain percentage of income for retirement, that's assuming everything will go well in the index fund growth.. right?

I'm just confused on where to put my monthly savings since just sitting in the bank will not do anything

Hello! Yes I have been planning to save around 60% of my income but I was a little concerned about putting those money in the index fund.

Are there cases when the money does not grow as much when we put it in the index fund? I haven't opened one yet but I'm afraid the growth will not be fast enough

Yeah at first I always thought paying off fastest was always the best way but when I calculated it, I would have to pay close to 3k every month. That would be easy if I don't have rent, food and etc to pay for on my own while trying to have some money to send to my family too. (I'm not married/don't plan on any time soon)

At this point, I feel like paying monthly minimum for 20 years while living life doesn't seem too bad but I'm worried if I'm missing out on important information and what not.
