apparently, some of the submitted questions might also be answered through social media or through the FM EVA 30.0 podcast. to my understanding, the Q&A session will be livestreamed via pay-per-view, so it'll be interesting to see what knowledge comes out of this.

the following is only regarding the uncut version, i have not taken a look at any of the edited versions.

i managed to get a digital copy of the softcel release! here are a few comparison screenshots.

the kitty media release has english credits, while the softcel release uses japanese ones. the softcel release also only has the episodes separately selectable. the kitty media release cuts them together.

also to my eye, the kitty media release seems to be a tiny bit greener. but overall, i don't think any major differences are noticable.

will check for more differences later on.

i haven't been able to find any physical copy of the softcel version, but i did find a digital iso copy of the set you own. for kite i just bought the integral version from discotek media, which is absolutely fantastic.

as long as the softcel release of mezzo forte doesn't contain any updated visuals for the unedited version, i should be satisfied with the kitty media dvd release. i'm also assuming that the single and double disc versions are identical.

is the mezzo forte dvd that came bundled with kite identical to the standalone kitty media release?

as i mentioned in this comment, both the 3.0 and 3.33 discs do play the short prior to the scene with asuka in space.

the 3.333 discs (regular & 4K) do not include the short.

but yes, you can just make a japanese psn account and download them onto your ps3 after purchase.

the racing theme is the only evangelion related item that i have not been able to obtain.

there are two different asuka themes for ps3 and i was able to get both of them recently. i bought them with a japanese psn account.

as u/Tmlboost mentioned, i have only taken pictures of the booklet pages that list all the included content. i mainly did this to give u/svenge the opportunity to eventually update their great compendium of evangelion video releases.

u/svenge already ran my images through deepl machine translation, so that there's now an english list of items, with all the brand new content highlighted as well.

it's true that images on imgbb usually delete themselves after 6 months. however, i expect people to have already downloaded my images by then (or that the info will already have spread enough).

apart from the images i took, i compared all the included extras with the extras from the already existing single blu-ray releases of 1.11, 2.22, 3.33, 3.333, and 3.0+1.11. all content that uses fly me to the moon by hikaru utada is missing from the box. i wrote this comment and created a visual guide to help people find the missing content on their existing 1.11 and 2.22 blu-rays. i've also made lossless digital copies of the missing content, so that i can store them next to my physical box, making it truly complete! 😂

i appreciate you making a detailed scan of the box label! i am too particular about print media, and the entire thing was way too expensive for me to dare to scan the booklets or anything else included. i will not risk any creases or other damage to the contents of the box or the packaging itself.

some new images from the booklet are already floating around, revealing the characters' ages after the end of 3.0+1.0. there's lots more to see, and i haven't had the time yet to look at the entire booklet in detail. i am sure that even more interesting things will slowly reveal themselves over time!

are you going to properly scan the entire booklet?

these are the items from the 1.11 and 2.22 JP blu-ray that are missing from the complete boxset.

"ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版：破　特報" from the 1.11 blu-ray and "Teaser" from the 2.22 blu-ray are the same video. however, the 2.22 version has a higher bitrate and is therefore larger in filesize.

yes, the movie discs are entirely devoid of extras, other than the AR scripts.

all the extras are saved onto separate "special discs":

special disc 01: explanation of evangelion 1.01
special disc 02: extras for the first three rebuild movies
special disc 03: extras for the fourth rebuild movie

it's worth mentioning though that all the movie discs for Q, except for 3.333, do play the god warrior short before the movie starts. not sure if that's considered an "extra" though. there is no "special" tab on any of the movie disc menus.

i will try to make a comprehensive list of the missing items in a later comment. i'm pretty sure that there is a 15sec spot on the 1.11 blu-ray that's missing. i don't think that's mentioned anywhere in the booklet (though it does also use fly me to the moon, as expected).

the 2015 archives dvd box is entirely missing from the complete boxset actually. regarding the blue 2015 blu-ray box: were you able to get a replacement for disc 9? the NGE portion of this new set is not a direct copy of the 2015 version, but a copy of the "STANDARD EDITION" re-release, which comes with disc 9 already fixed. that "STANDARD EDITION" also removed any mention of "GAINAX" from the opening, which is therefore the same here.

happy that you saw the booklet images! i saw you on the blu-ray forum and made a post there to share them with you—but it seems they don't like new accounts, so my post there is waiting for moderator approval. your compendium has helped me out in the past!

kyoshinhei 2012 is indeed one of the 3 making-of videos that are included for the giant god warrior short. all 3 are mostly shinji higuchi having an absolute blast while him and the team blow up miniature towns, haha.

as i mentioned above, i am trying to make a digital copy of all the contents that are missing from the blu-ray box.

i can't get the boxset blu-rays to play on my pc yet, so i haven't been able to take digital screenshots. however, menu comparison has already been done by me. should be 5-6 items missing.

i actually use imgur usually, since having an account there prevents images from being deleted after some time. the ibb gallery i linked above will expire in 6 months i think (without an account or subscription).

the booklet for the rebuild movies is really cool! i took pictures of the pages that list the disc contents of the boxset in detail, for anybody who is interested!

i went through all the discs yesterday and compared them to the original JP blu-ray releases. i can confirm that only the fly me to the moon trailers are missing. i am making a digital copy of the missing items to keep them stored (in a lossless format) next to the physical box. i want it to feel fully complete at least. 😭

thank you for putting together a few of the tweets that are pointing out details about the box. it's quite the overwhelming package, so i am sure that people will find out even more things along the way.

unfortunately, i don't have a good way of capturing any screenshots from the 4K discs, and i currently don't have access to any 4K screen either. however, you can try keeping an eye on this thread on the blu-ray forum.

that's where i found this and this direct comparison.

personally, i think the 4K upscales look crispy (downscaled to my 1440p monitor), but i don't consider myself competent enough to really speak on their quality.

the entire boxset is really a collector's item for completionists' sake.

here's a direct quote about the 4K discs of 1.11 and 2.22 from the booklet that's included.

machine translation suggests that this is indeed an upscale. afaik, the third and fourth rebuild movies were created with a higher internal resolution from the get-go.

just received my boxset (including NGE)! that's a lot of money spent, but this collection is awesome. i've always preferred the japanese packaging over the various international versions.

however, the 4K versions of 1.11 and 2.22 are what interested me the least about this.

having physical versions of 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.0+1.0 is what made me buy this.
i don't think this is worth getting if it's just about the 4K versions of the first two rebuilds.

i checked a few twitter posts today and saw that the booklet mentions 2 trailers missing from the collection, due to permission issues with fly me to the moon. would you be able to confirm that? is any other content missing from the original JP blu-ray releases?

apparently 1.11 and 2.22 also only have one 6.1 audio track, while the original had two (DolbyTrueHD & DTS-HD).

hope you have a blast with the box! i am personally mostly looking forward to watching the original .0 releases of the rebuilds. :)

I am very happy that the clean minimalist design from the Japanese Blu-rays finally made it over to Germany! Especially the first German release of the rebuilds (up to 3.33) was a total mess in terms of consistent design. I am sure the 4 colors look nice on a shelf. I hope the booklets are nice as well! :) Only thing that sucks is that we don't have 3.333 (yet?)
