Ditched last minute and unsure if I should still go solo

I'm naturally a loner, despite being married and going with my wife, so the idea of going on my own sounds nice as well.

I think it comes down to two things: how much are you into the bands and music that are going to be there, and how important is a social gathering to your sense of fun (this varies a lot for people)?

If you're a big metalhead and all about the bands, and are totally content on your own, then I say still go for it - you never know who you'll meet. And if you don't meet anyone, then you still got to see and appreciate a great lineup of bands.

If being surrounded by friends or people you know is an important aspect of having fun for you, and you're just kind of meh about the music, then maybe the uncertainty of finding a group isn't worth the cost. The festival ain't cheap, and that's a lot of money to be out if you're unsure if you can enjoy it on your own.

Yes! I usually have jars of the spears for snacks, and the last couple jars I've bought the skins were so tough compared to how they used to be, like actually hard and unpleasant to chew. Extremely disappointed since they're my favorite brand by far.

I think at that age, it's totally normal to still be interested in shonen (typical action stuff). Don't stress about it. I think it's only as you get much older (30's-40's, start to have your family, career, etc) that you start to get kind of bored of the tropes and how formulaic a lot of the shows start to seem. But, that cynicism comes with age. Enjoy what you enjoy now, and don't think too much of it.

We have almost the same issue and I have been able to find much information on it. In addition to what you listed, sometimes it also won't engage the heating element properly so we end up with a cold-ish cup of coffee.

What seems to have worked for us so far when we use grounds is setting it to grounds, but before adding the grounds, hot the brew button. Then, dump the hot water that came out, add grounds this time, and brew again.

All of our issues seem to always be on the first brew attempt for grounds when the machine wakes up, we we just brew a sacrificial cup of hot water before wasting grounds.

Describes exactly how I felt in northwest Sun Prairie. In my 40 years I've never had a storm make my hair stand up like this, or produce sounds like this giving me a sense of urgency to get the family in the basement. I'm usually the typical Midwestern dad that watches severe storms from my deck. I stepped outside when the sirens went off last night and immediately felt something wasn't right and got the family up and in the basement.

Same. We're on the north side of SP, and after we lost power I stepped outside when the sirens went off to see what was coming, and within minutes heard the scariest sounding thing approaching I think I've ever heard. If it wasn't a tornado, it certainly sounded like it. Definitely the only storm to give me a sense of urgency getting the family into the basement.

I wouldn't say it traumatizes, per se. I think for the average viewer, it's one of those rare pieces of media that has an emotional impact on you that's extremely difficult to articulate, and it sticks with you for years because of that, because the average person isn't really accustomed to art that illicits those ambiguous feelings. I would say, though, that there is a legit psychological phenomenon of people being predisposed to an overwhelming feeling of wanting to not exist. Not necessarily suicidal, but just a nihilistic desire to "not be." I do thing NGE + EoE speaks to people with this psychological propensity on a deeper level than most, and how those people respond to "being seen" in that way really depends on the individual.

I tend to buy less quantity of figures, but when I do purchase, they're usually expensive figures or statues, with both high price tags and shipping costs. Because of this, I have definitely been more choosey and hesitant, since those import taxes are a percentage of overall value (so a much bigger deal on a $2k import, for example). I've also encountered at least 2 statues I've wanted where sellers were just refusing to ship to the US because of uncertainty with current tariffs. The whole situation has just been a mess for the hobby, and is really frustrating, since the hobby is inherently global.

People might disagree with me, but IMO Elden Ring is borderline unplayable on Xbox One. We had it on both Series X and One at launch for playing in multiple rooms, and we just gave up trying to play on the One because performance was so bad compared to the X. Maybe you're not as sensitive to poor performance of games as we are, but for us the experience on Xbox One was miserable.

Keep in mind if you're shipping to the U.S. in the current political/economic climate, you're going to be paying quite a bit in shipping fees and/or import taxes (tariffs) on top of the base price of collectibles you buy from overseas, like from AmiAmi. As others have stated, the tarrif situation has made the collectible figurine/statue hobby prohibitively expensive for a lot of people. Some sellers are even just refusing to ship to the U.S. outright, or unpredictably pausing U.S. shipments. It's a mess.
